Hi all

ive got the Alpine CD/RADIO in my car running 4” front and 6” rear speakers.
They sound terrible like there blown so I’m looking into replacement and in addition want to run the plug and play Alpine KTP 445A power amp.

Has anyone had any first hand experience with the amp and what speakers sound the best in our cars.

cheers

We run a mech less alpine head unit the ktp445 and inphase sub in the passenger footwell, then focal fronts and rears from the ac range and the sound is great

all easy to install and fit with no issues

Bose Bluetooth speaker connected to your phone. Only mono but loud and good quality. Saves car weight as well.

Weight saving is really minimal, maybe a pro driver on a track could tell, but mear mortals on road and trackdays I really doubt it

Weight saving is indeed a jest but they are very good quality. I’ve given up with built in audio in my Exige.

Focal speakers are probably best as they are a compact light design and very good quality but then you need to marry up with decent HU.

if you got an car hifi shop still around try and pop in to sample the equipment

I use a place in Leicester and the guy who runs it an experienced with lotus

Really pleased with the Focal’s I recently fitted. 100AC in the front and 130AC in the rear.

Was the in the standard sizes or did you upgrade for bigger.

100 (front) and 130 (rear) are the same size as the original ones. You’d struggle to get bigger ones in the front!

Yes, same as stock.

Larger is possible in the front but requires cutting the dash, which I wanted to avoid
