For anyone thinking of repairs like this, What's the rough price breakdown, in terms of the bits you bought and how much the final professional bit cost? And what area did they actually spray? Dean is correct in terms of the cost of resin, fibreglass, filler etc. For a small repair like this those material aren't very expensive. I purchased a very small quantity of resin from Halford for this repair which was fine. If you need greater quantities then I would consider buying from East Coast Fiberglass Supplies (I don't have any affiliation with them). They have a page with information and guides which is quite useful. I have purchased from them for my Elan repairs and also when I replaced a knackered bitumen flat roof with a fibreglass roof. ECF - East Coast Fibreglass Supplies Option 1 appear to have done a great job. I think we can say that it is an invisible repair . With this repair method it will also have structural integrity. Hopefully it demonstrates that this can be a DIY job. If you are thinking of having a go and need a bit of encouragement then I'm happy to encourage you, although you might not forgive me when you're attacking your beloved Lotus with an angle grinder 😅 3 Quote
