KurtB
It’s a long time since I’ve posted in this section, but here goes. As my Lotus is under repair at the moment we had no choice but to use my Father In Laws Jaguar F Type Coupe to get to Francorchamps. It’s an utterly effortless cruising machine, as sadly we were just intent on getting here as quickly as possible, so just did motorways. Walking around on the Friday (arrivals and early practise day), I saw lots of interesting cars in the paddock and please forgive me for focusing on our marque. Here you go... A very used Lotus XI... I like the patina! Lotus 26R An Elite So pretty and beautifully small! Another XI Next a real favourite, the Type 47... Looked to be BDA powered. I miss my Europa... Next a couple of cars in the car park. And finally some of the other marques... Crossle from Ireland. Another favourite, the Alpine A110. Stunning automotive art and the best looking Honda Cub I’ve ever seen! GT40 (replicas). Beautiful. And finally, Fran and I in usual guise...beer glasses empty. More of this lot later... KurtB
I’m sorry they’re not posted chronology, I’m a bit fluffy and typing in my phone. I’m aware that the green XI is a Westfield. More to come next time. Cheers, Kurt

KurtB
It was also the first time I clapped eyes on the new Alpine A110. I like it, but it’s bigger than I imagined. The quality of some materials gets a slating in the automotive press, but it’s better than any Lotus I’m familiar with. The new Elise will have its work cut out... Phil S1
Some beautiful machinery on show there Kurt, the M1 brings back memories of when I watched the pro-cars when they came to Donington in the 80's with the likes of Alan Jones behind the wheel. Thanks for posting
KurtB
You’re very welcome Phil. Today is our last day, and lots of cars have left, but I’m willing to take more. Any requests from anyone?

KurtB
And that’s about it from me. It was a brilliant weekend, and hopefully next year I’ll formulate a plan to get the Exige in the paddock. All the best, Kurt
