My TRD is now 3 years old so it must be due a change so the question is is just a filter change if so with what filter or is there something much better out there and are they worth the extra cost?

TRD filters get dirty/clogged very quickly.

You have two options, fit another TRD panel or pop along to SeriouslyLotus website and get the K&N panel.
