Wow, hot off the press, these early renders could be showing the 2020 Elise...

That is very very nice.  I think the roof looks to tall and domed but apart from that,  lovely.

Umm not to sure, proportions look a little out on this mock up, But I bet the 2020 will be a Fantastic car and even better looking than this

Looks like the right direction to go, design wise. Much better than the Dany Bahar Elise. They will have to sort out the stripes, it changes sides on the rendering

Not sure where this is coming from, but once again, this is not great, has to be from a student again. And yes it uses more the Mclaren deisgn language than Lotus.

Tis my son Richard - genius CAD bod - not a student but fully qualified designer.  Created from scratch as a possible new direction for the 2020 Elise.  That really will need to be special.

Ok let me know where he works, I am a designer working in a famous English car manufacturer design studio, this is my job, so I consider I am able here to say what I think. That is not a studio level, maybe a rush volume a the best, but again, no Lotus DNA in there.

little confused by this, I think Eric's son has had a good go at interrupting lotus for 2020 and some people like it and some don't., and maybe some have taken it to seriously,

 

imho. It looks like a Ferrari / mclaren mash up which is no bad thing but has a little too much going on for a small sports car, maybe elongated for a esprit chassis ......
