Mutley00
At my last MOT, the tester noted a slight misting from one of the Ohlins, but did the decent thing and only gave me an advisory. Has anyone ever had theirs serviced and could recommend anywhere? The Ohlins Official site gives me this place as the nearest centre http://mickgardnerracing.com/, but at £135 a corner, cheap it aint! I'm now wondering whether to put something brand new on instead. Any advice will be much appreciated - I only need 'fast road use' and not track! Thanks, Andrew
DeanB
Andrew I would have the ohlins re-furbed. It will cost more to go back to standard billies. The Ohlins are a much better damper than the made to a price billies and should give a very good low speed ride if the spring rates are sensible. How does the car feel to you? Do you like the ride and handling? If you would prefer a softer set up billies are still good and you could sell the Ohlins for £4-500 on seloc i would guess. jonnyfox
Had mine done at both, both were excellent. S2 46's a refurb at Aurock, Current S1 36's were converted by Mick Gardener. You really cant go wrong Andrew.
Mutley00
Thanks for the advice chaps, a refurb at Mick Gardener's it shall be. Barnsley is alot nearer to Sheff than Hampshire is!
Spitfire
Cornering Force also do them, dampers are their speciality in fact. Niko from this forum now works there so there is some considerable VX knowledge base, options on different valving rates as well as a basic rebuild. Quite a price difference as well due to the rural location http://www.corneringforce.com
