Camera mount advice for evora

I was wondering what people do to get their in car video footage for track days with an evora?

 

I want to avoid spending much money and use a standard digital camera to record some HD video in car footage. Probably powered by the USB socket.

 

I've been considering using an adhesive gopro mount on the back window and getting a gopro to tripod thread converter. So I can mount the camera in the back window.

 

I want it to be trackday safe (so no suction mounts).

 

Any ideas or is this a basically daft idea?

I use a go pro sticky mount in my Exige with a go pro, no complaints from me or the TDO.
