That's word for word what I'm doing buddy. I meant the aluminium. Lol I'm fast running out for this stint. If I can get the subframe and wish bones on, new heat shield I'll be a very happy boy on my holidays

Will have a look Martin, thank you.

So made a start removing the engine with my mate Dave.  Engine out (after a call to John Shorrocks)…. I can’t recall the 2ZZ-GE being such a wiggle when he took it out the S2. So following his advice pushed the gearbox hard towards the bulkhead the right side engine mount clearing the strut and the gearbox with a bit of a jiggle cleared the sub-frame and out it came.  The service notes were quite good.  Rear sub-frame off, let the long arduous clean up commence.

Lmao!

You could do this Dean easy, its the off the road bit that I'm struggling with this year.  Still I'm sure it'll be worth it.

Jonny - why replace the VHPD with a VVC?

I need to keep the car pure.  I can get 190 out of the VVC, I may get more but I want to feel and cherish the car as it originally (almost) was. When funds permit and the restoration is complete I'll have the original VHPD with 52k (& gearbox) reworked and stored to help retain the value of the car.  I have no need to chase power on a car I'm only very lightly going to track, it'll be much more than that.  I will buy a track car when this is complete.  I'd like an R300, it wouldn't be a replacement however.

Jon, looks excellent. That bottom left corner is where you get corrosion if any. I presume you are fitting a PRT? If you are, in the joining pipe where the rad return hose exits the sill, fit a drain off. It will make draining the coolant a lot easier in future. Its a PITA to keep disconnecting the pipes.
