Kevin
Excuse my lack of technical knowledge but I'm awaiting for my 6x22 exhaust and 200 cel cat from Jim at 2bular. When it arrives and I arrange for Gav @ Unit 4 to remove old and refit new, does the engine require a re Map?? If so where do you recommend that I take it? My car is a 2002 Elise S2 Lotus Sport 135 Many thanks in advance Kevin
dobbo
If you have a standard ECU, you can't remap it anyway. If you already have (eg) an Emerald, there's probably still no real point for those mods. More important when you start changing cam profiles, timing, valve sizes, etc. Gav doesn't have mapping facilities either. To be honest, swapping the silencer and cat is easy enough if you have ramps or axle stands. I've even done a cat swap just putting one side of the car up on the road kerb outside my old house ! Kevin
Dobbo Thanks very much for feedback, much appreciated Yes my ECU is standard. I don't have any equipment so more than happy to take it over to Gav to fit, once they have been delivered. I note its your birthday toady so enjoy and happy new year Kevin
DeanB
Kevin I agree with Dobbo - the standard 135 engine management computer should cope ok with a different exhaust and cat. I took my s2 to Gav's for a new exhaust to be fitted cos I am crap at spannerwork. He does a proper job at a fair price.

(Cheers for the birthday wishes as well)

Dennis
Take it to the garage if the cat has never been off before is my advice, seized/rusty bolts are not fun when laid on your back in the cold
