kieranexige
I've just read on seloc that a member contacted them today and it will be closing as a service centre in 2 weeks with all staff being made redundant and workshop items sold. P4N Lotus
What the hell, what about those who have bought stuff from there , also what's this about the cheif engineer Becker has quit too? Sounds like some bad decisions being made Hope the lotus guys set up their own place, so basically now the nearest lotus official service is silverstone? Meister
There's a guy on seloc who has some service / mot left on his plan and has been offered a full refund........minus £42 admin charges ! That's Robo Elise who is on MLOC too, I'm sure he will be along soon to fill us in on the details! It comes as no surprise to me that they are shutting. Their sales department did everything in their power to prevent me buying a 111R from there 2 or 3 years ago. All I wanted was to do a 'deal', I was that desperate for that car that if they had so much as offered me a twix and can of coke I would have brought it....but no...if you want it Sir you pay the sticker price! un1eash
Doesn't surprise me. Last time I checked I was quoted £180 for an A service plus another £80 for brake fluid, Gav did it all for £170.They also take mots of site and air con regas of site. Yeah I saw that some people who commented were local and already using Gav. I must admit that although I'm yet to use Gav I will be doing in the spring without hesitation on all the good reviews. John FISH Curtis
I suspect Gav will be getting busier now.
Dr H
I suspect Gav will be getting busier now. I'm not sure about Gav any more. He's had a heater fitted in the workshop. He's going soft, it's all downhill from here! Gav - don't worry you know I'll be back
P4N Lotus
Has worked on Evora's? Does he have courtesy cars?
Chris_edeson
Its a shame for Mark, Ian and John at Strats they have always been brilliant with me.
DanP
At Gav's, if you are like me, during a service you just hang out, poking around underneath your own car, and chewing the fat with Gav. Great guy. Having said that, I appreciate that lotus need a decent dealer network, and some customers want half decent courtesy cars. Stratstones can do other brand car dealership just fine. Just don't know what happened with lotus.

Robo Elise
I do feel sorry for Ian Mark and John but a bit annoyed about this service plan job. I'm on to it tho!!! They have been very good to me whenever I had a problem with the car I bought from them 4 years ago and I wish them all the best.
Daveb99
Ah.....gutted. My mate gave me an 'A' service voucher for Stratstone Leicester that he won at Chatsworth (he doesn't own a Lotus) - I was planning to use it in March.. Wonder if they will fit me in the next two weeks?? Would be worth re-taxing my car for that.. Daryl - I'm sure there's some small print on the voucher saying you'll take personal responsibility for sourcing an alternative in the event of this kind of thing, Unit 4 would be perfect................hehe
