Elise S1 Bought Today :-)

Well I have to admit when in Feb last year I bought an Mx5 to attempt to scratch my Lotus itch, I didn't realise I'd be making

some good friends into the bargain , the car afterall is a lump of metal and plastic , nice as they are, so it's great to hear that MLOC are a good bunch, roll on the drives and meets :-D

Ciren is very easy for me to get to, and there's a lotus specialist in Cheltenham I was told aswell by a guy in your neck of the woods I think ?

I've no idea how good this one is, body condition wise, but I have a feeling I'm going to be a bit precious about it for a few weeks,

Once a few stone chips appear I might be less bothered and get into the swing more !!!

Get in touch with Miles and get it inspected locally would be my advice     smile.png       Just dont let him talk you into a few passenger laps.

HAHA I know you miss me really Martin! :P

Drop me a message Sundaydriver (sorry I don't know your name) if you want the details of the mechanic I use. Or feel free to pop over, I have a similar azure blue S1 in my garage at the moment that has been slowly upgraded over the last 2 years for track / reliability reasons.

Hi there,

Welcome to the party smile.png . Azure Blue...the best colour (in my opinion laugh.png ).

I am sure you will find a happy balance between treasuring your new toy and enjoying it. I have always been of the mind set that there is no reason owning a vehicle like ours unless you can enjoy it without getting too precious about stone chips on the paintwork and other minor wear and tear. I have been into cars, car clubs & shows long enough to realize that the ones that trailer their cars to events are far less animated than the ones that drive them to the shows. There is a reason for that rolleyes.gif . My philosophy is that I can live with a few war wounds, and if there is ever a time I come to sell my Elise ( yeah, like that's going to happen! laugh.png   ), I will get it blown in and tidied up just before.

I am hoping to make it to Chatsworth so may see you there.

Thanks again guys , looks like I need to get to Chatsworth for sure :-)

Miles, I'll be in touch if that's ok , I'm aiming to collect the car on Friday all being well.

Looks like I'll be driving in a monsoon !!!

Well don't worry if you get leaks around the roof!  TADTS!  (Although mine didn't leak until after I'd had to remove the doors and windows...) Have a suitable cloth handy to de-mist the inside of the screen.

Try to make sure you get to Chatsworth.  It's a great chance to show off your new toy and meet lots of MLOCers.

Ha ha, sounds like a backward step from my 91 Eunos , with air con and no leaks ...

I dont care if I'm swimming , aslong as it's a lotus I'm swimming in.

I've just finished emptying the garage of a four foot high pile of celcon blocks , one more wall , a brick one , will

have to wait. The house I just moved into has a 'double garage', but not only is there a brick dividing wall,

It was used as a business premises for years , and he'd lined the whole building in celcon blocks - they looked

Like up and over doors from the outside .... But to get in you needed a sledgehammer lol !

We got the One door opened for first time in about twenty years only last week.

Space reserved for Lotus only it now says in graffiti on my temporary dividing wall :-)
