Saw My Evora On The Production Line

So the other day Aimee at Silverstone lotus arranged for me to visit my Evora whilst on the production line and get a tour of the factory, what a fantastic day. My wife Olivia hadn't seen an Evora in person until then so thankfully she was happy with it!

So my car was about half way down the production line at the time. It was painted, engine and wiring was in place but no interior or front/rear bumpers yet.

Due to homologation reasons, the car is getting built as a standard Evora S IPS Sports racer, its then road registered and then wheeled over to lotus sport who are then taking off loads of the standard parts and fitting the GT4 parts!!

It was great seeing the factory so busy with so many cars (mainly exige v6's) being built (all to order). I can't remeber the last time i saw the factory this busy (probably 2004 when the S2 exige was launched). The sales numbers for lotus are going to make good reading in the coming months.

I expect to get the car around the first week in June, can't wait. Roll on summer.....

Finally, if anyone interested in buying my nearly 3 year old black Jaguar XF 3.0D S, i've put it in the classifieds section http://www.midlandslotus.co.uk/forum/classifieds/item/471-jaguar-xf-30d-s-premium-luxury/#overview

First week in June, excellent! Really looking forward to seeing it, I think it's going to look great. You should be in with a shout for Car Of The Day at Chatsworth. :-)

Yep getting all the original parts. I'll either try and sell them, or store them and return it standard when I sell in the future and sell the gt4 parts separately.

what parts will be coming off it? I may be interested , it's aspen white isn't it?

Quantum, it should currently be in bits in Motorsport.

Yes it's aspen white with sports racer black bits.

Bits coming off:

Sports racer front bumper

Standard A panels

Rear engine/boot lid glass

Rear spoiler

Pretty sure I saw your car in the Motorsport bay

Only briefly saw it through the roller shutter door, but it had the GT4 bumper on and looked fantastic!

Also had my first passenger ride on track in a Evora S Sports Racer, to say I was impressed is an understatement.

Jumped straight out off the Evora into an Exige Roadster. Cant beat doing 140+ with the roof off.

You never appreciate as a driver just how quick these things can brake and accelerate.
