Have you tried taking it off after driving the car? It gets too hot to hold which is one reason the original is plastic.

Real reason I had to change was the thread on the plastic one was a bit chewed up and didn't get a decent seal.

 

Gel sticker was seperate so I could line it up and please my OCD.

Your can tell mine is a genuine lotus item,...... as the writing is completely out of line and upside down

 

 

I have a microfibre cloth (well a few) I can use if I need to take it off and it is hot
