marky_p72
Hi all,My driver side window was catching, so I had my 1st tinker to adjust it. Removed the door card, then reconnected the electric window switch so I could operate the window while making the adjustments. Had to turn the ignition on to do this - which I did a number of times! After not driving the car for a couple of weeks aswell, the battery ended up flat.I have charged it up, but now my problem is that the small area in the dash that shows miles/fuel/temp is now permanently lit (even with keys out & alarmed) but is totally blank! When I start the car, it stays blank so I have no idea of mileage/fuel/temp + the other info/warning lights stay lit up (e.g; high beam/indicators etc).Any suggestions??My 1st port of call was going to be disconnecting the battery. Will this cause me more issues with the alarm/immobiliser?Was planning a drive out tomorrow, and I'm at work today, so if I don't get it sorted, can I still drive it?? (I will fill her up with fuel!!)Thanks.Mark
DeanB
Oh dear. This is why I leave mine well alone! Someone will be along in a bit that knows about this kind of stuff I'm sure. Martin R probably. Good luck.
marky_p72
I have just spoken to my local Lotus specialist & they agreed that my 1st port of call is to disconnect the battery (& leave disconnected for at least an hour) then see if it resets. He thinks that turning the ignition repeatedly on/off when adjusting the window has upset the ECU ??? Am at work today until 5pm, so can't get to it until then. Martin R
Make sure you disable the alarm just before you pull the lead off the battery. It can save any problems with the alarm after you reconnect. Good luck
marky_p72
Problem solved. I disconnected the battery for around 2hrs, then reconnected. All back to normal. Got a battery charger/conditioner now, so hopefully will keep it topped up. Game on tomorrow morning!! Cheers Mark

marky_p72
Hi again Now I have problem with this window being stuck!! I put the window right down (which I've done a number of times since I fixed it) and it got stuck going up. I was out and it was raining, but I managed to get it back up with a helping hand! It is now stuck up (luckily!) and only moves about 1" from the top position. I've taken the door card back off to look, but can't see anything offending! Anyone advise? Cheers Mark
kayj_prod
Anything stuck in the runners? Is it square as it moves?
marky_p72
Finding it really difficult to see inside! I'm sure it's catching towards the front. Will try & look again later.
marky_p72
I've been reading about people having this problem and the small screw inside at the back being the problem. However, with my window stuck mostly 'up' I can't get to the screw.......... or can I !? I'm still sure it's catching at the front though !
