Dry Cell Batteries

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I need a new battery for my Elise and I was just wondering if anybody is using a dry cell battery in place of the usual lead acid setup? I attended a show (race retro) a month or so ago and saw a stand selling dry cells. I was quite surprised at how inexpensive they were (approx £80 plus connector adapters).

As always an feedback much appreciated. :)

I used and quite a few other people use the odyssey dry cell agm batteries.

Good weight saving, but not as much reserve, so they need a trickle charger if left for more than a week.

I use an Odyssey as well (PC680) great battery imo and I've been really impressed with it!

I put it on a conditioner until it is fully charged then disconnect it via the negative terminal and it can sit for 2 or 3 months and will always fire first time smile.png

Mine is on a 2.8 litre E30 BMW so it certainly needs a good amount of cranking power to get it going and it has never failed!
