Chris_edeson
Mine doesn't have a particularly soft lining. It has ties/clips that go under the car. I'll get it out, but if i remember correctly its a woven cotton type material that is coated on the outside in a rubbery/plastic silver finish. It has a storage bag made out of the same. my sister lives in Thorpe astly but works in derby with me everyday. I'll get it out at the weekend to make sure the condition is ok and can give it to my sister next week if you want. Slight thread drift! I live on thorpe astley too! Theres a few loti on here... Jonathan E
My last two Elises have lived under specialised car covers, in fact, I have just purchased a new one as my previous one was 6 years old and starting to look a bit tatty, still got £100 on ebay for it though. I understand the comments about scratching the paintwork, but the specialised covers have a fleece lining, so as long as you make sure the car is clean when its put away I can't really see it being a problem. Regarding the micro blisters issue, in my experience if your going to get blisters it will makes no difference whatsoever if the car is covered or not. My S2 111s never lived under a cover and the paint fell off in chunks due to micro blisters, on the other hand my 111r lived under my cover and I had a few blisters appear on the access panels, my S1 has been living under its cover for the last 4 years without any detriment to the paintwork. The cover for my car fits like a glove, and once you attach a couple of straps (which are only required in really windy conditions) there is practically no movement against the car at all. I wouldn't use anything other than the Specialised covers but thats due to the fact that I know they do a great job. All just my personal opinion, but the opinion of someone who has used such a product for quite a few years.
