Suspension Tools

Hi all.

Anyone got the necessary tools to replace ball joints and bushes etc I could borrow please?

There are some jobs I just wish I never started!!!!!!

You've reminded me that I have an EP ball joint removal tool and a suspension bush tool - not much good to me at the moment so you're welcome to borrow them. PM me with if/when you want to pick them up.

If you struggle with the bushes you should be able to use some sockets and a bench vice. Did mine (or a few of them) and then got a press which was miles easier.

With the proper tools from Tim (thanks Tim!), the wishbone bushes are really easy to remove, but the ball joints are stuck fast!!! Soaking them over night in some penetration oil and will try again tomorrow... I was in fear of breaking the tool!

A heat gun works wonders for this too. Tighten up the ball joint tool as high as you dare then get a hat gun on the upright. Should pop off.

I've got a small 10T bench press near Edgehill, if that's of any help. I used a tool for my ball joints, though as it was easier. But you're welcome to give it a try if you need it. Drop me a PM

Thanks for the offer. Managed to get them all out. Just soaked in penetrating oil for a few days, then came out without too much grief
