I don't rev mine past 6000 but it is standard and it doesn't go any quicker above that. My engine has done 82k now on its original bottom end (third head gasket mind!) and is as sweet as a nut. I would be surprised if it isn't still making 120 horses.

As Bill says it is high revs that does for them in the end. They do seem to last quite well though
