Dr H Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 3...8...0...? Omg. That's more than three times what I have... Does it spin the wheels in third and that sort of craziness? Nah, 888s so it just sort of sticks (in the dry) and catapults you forward at a great rate of knots. It really is quite scarey as I've not got the driving talent needed It really is monumentally fast. If I had the talent it *should* do 0-60 in 3.2 and 0-100 in less than 8 secs. But then again it's like a pussy cat around town. Best of both worlds!
scatty Posted June 22, 2013 Author Posted June 22, 2013 Your not making this any easier doc!!!!! Humour us, what's it like in the wet????
M@r]{ Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Definitely keep yours! It's such a good example, you know it's history and it's unusual. So supercharge it and you have the perfect car. You buy a car already done you're buying an unknown. You'll also get more power from an after market kit You're more than welcome to have a look around mine at the next get together (Komotec kit)
Dr H Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Your not making this any easier doc!!!!! Humour us, what's it like in the wet???? Perfectly useable as the engine is so tractable. It only goes like a bat out of hell if you make it . If you want a go in one, mine's ready willing and able!
scatty Posted June 22, 2013 Author Posted June 22, 2013 Thank you that's kind. When the green bogie goes, I may take you up on the offer....
C1RVY Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 When the green bogie goes, Nooooooooo Your car is about the most striking S2 I've seen! I think it looks fantastic & sounds nice too. I wouldn't think you'd have any problem selling it tbh. Got to ask though, why are you changing mate?
scatty Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 This is a good question... I just think the time is right. Mileage is getting higher and if I leave it another year, I don't think il get anywhere near what I want....so it would make sense to sell and get a younger model... Not sure what yet though.... I don't really want to leave the lotus scene, but might just need to scratch the evo itch, something which I haven't done....you only live once, mrs scatty wants me to stay lotus, but she's always had such good taste.... :-) Think we will sell mine, and then bide my time until the right car comes along....
chrislane Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Have you had much interest in yours scatty? I wouldn't have thought it would take long to shift this time of year.
scatty Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Quite a bit Chris. But it's still sat here. It's hanging on in there for chatsworth...... :-)
TimSportsTourer Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I can recommend an Esprit for a rather different Lotus experience, in many ways. Fundamentally, though, it's a Lotus through and through, and that's the important bit, probably. Works for me...
R.I.B. Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 My mate had an Evo 8 FQ360 Scatty, it was incredibly fast, amazing handling for its weight and very easy to drive fast but the running costs was insane, if he was going for a spirited drive he was lucky to get his mpg into the double figures. Over a year he worked out that his servicing, tyres & petrol worked out to over £1 per mile he did (not including the payment of the car or depreciation) and that was 6-8 years ago.
scatty Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 I know I'm mad, the exige is relatively cheap to run compared to my previous japcrap, in fact fuel wise it's ridiculously cheap. Imagine what 500 bhp will be like..... ;-) That's the problem, I went out in my mates, and yes it was quick etc, but it felt like driving a barge.....lol...I think nothing will compare to the handling and how my exige feels... This is a reason why I'm not 100% on what I want yet.... Mines deffo going, just not sure what for....I keep telling mrs scatty I want a younger model. She laughs and tells me to look in the mirror... Cheeky mare.....
