M@r]{ Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Had the GoPro in the car and recorded most of the time out on track. Here are some of the clips One thing I learnt on the day - really need some semi slicks. It was very obvious coming out of the corners those with them could put their foot down a lot earlier. Well there's my excuse for my crap driving so enjoy the video
russelld Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Those Ginettas look quick when the're going forwards !
M@r]{ Posted May 14, 2013 Author Posted May 14, 2013 They were, well a couple of them! They were all on full slicks, the grip they had around the corners was amazing.
M@r]{ Posted May 14, 2013 Author Posted May 14, 2013 Cheers guys. It was with Book-a-Track. First day I have done with them. Expensive but well run. However the day was literally mostly made up of competition track day cars running slicks and 'unofficially' testing (read timing their laps) So there was a lot of discourteous driving by some of them, particularly some of the Ginetta drivers.
Ian C Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Nice vid. Thanks for posting. I'm running Toyo 888s and they make a massive difference on track. Although they are very easy to over cook.
jody391 Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Awsome video mate! You looked way faster in a straight line though on the Ginettas?!.. Good little circuit, watching Hamilton fight his way past Vettel in formula 3 shows how good the layout is. Must get on track soon!!!....:/
chris_h Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Don't like your phone on the dash like that. I'm very suprised book a track let you out like that, it would become a proper missile in an accident. Also what are you doing with your left thumb while going around right corners ??
M@r]{ Posted May 15, 2013 Author Posted May 15, 2013 Awsome video mate! You looked way faster in a straight line though on the Ginettas?!.. It certainly looked that way on the main straight when I got along side one, had to back off to let him finish passing. Thing is they were all on full slicks and could carry so much speed through the corners, and get on the power out of the corners sooner, so most of the way around the track they had the jump on you! Hoping when I get a set of semi slicks it may even things up a little Don't like your phone on the dash like that. I'm very suprised book a track let you out like that, it would become a proper missile in an accident. Also what are you doing with your left thumb while going around right corners ?? Yeah you're probably right. I had it connected via bluetooth to the OBD connector displaying intake temps etc. It is connected to the holder securely, its just the holder itself that needs a more permanent fixing.
M@r]{ Posted May 15, 2013 Author Posted May 15, 2013 Your poor old dad. :-) I know! He lives in Cornwall, chairman of the dive club so spends a lot of time on boats. Said before the day when I mentioned about feeling sick as the wife does, he said he'd be fine, never had motion sickness! I knocked this up to tease him, apparently all the other guys in the dive club have passed it around and he has had some right stick
russelld Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I hope he didn't make too much of a mess, full face helmets make it a bit tricky !
M@r]{ Posted May 15, 2013 Author Posted May 15, 2013 I hope he didn't make too much of a mess, full face helmets make it a bit tricky ! He did have a full face helmet on but thankfully one of those that lifts up. I was a bit worried by my side steps though
