This is my quick summary from Facebook:-

What a week for the whole team. After the massive effort of rebuilding the car in under a week after the big fire, we finally made it to Croft for round 2 of the UK Time Attack Championship.

Work on the car to get it finished was still happening whilst Simon was sitting in the car, waiting to go out for it's first ever proper session!!!! Anyway, the gearbox valve block somehow sucked in some dirt which caused it to jam, so that was the end of our warm up session. It was pulled apart, cleaned and re-fitted.

The practice session didn't throw up any problems and Simon got a feel for the car and the circuit, having not driven there for 10 years. The times were starting to look good and we were top of the leader board. In qualifying Simon started to lean on the car more to see what it felt like. All looking really positive and lots of consistent laps being put down to gather data etc. With our push-to-pass button for full boost being applied down the start/finish straight, the car looked and sounded like a guided missile, as full power was unleashed. We could tell that the times were coming down and we ended the session top of the board again with a 1.23 flat and about 1 second faster than anyone else. Simon thought that there was probably a 1.20/1.21 to come in the final, as he was still learning.

A complete nut and bolt check out of the way and a few setup and aero changes made and it was time for the final. However, again we were very unlucky and our day was once again cut short. Our battery isolator had for no apparent reason decided to cut the engine after only a minute on track and Simon was forced to coast onto the infield grass and watch the rest of the session from his seat. Once again, we were all gutted.

On the plus side however, we now know what the car is capable of and can start fine-tuning it, ready for Snetterton in a months time. The engine package has turned out to be an absolute cracker and the new 4 way Quantum Racing dampers are working very well indeed.

Once again, huge thanks to all of our sponsors for their generosity and an even bigger thanks to Scuffers, Eliseparts and Matthew Bentley Racing for all their hard work, especially in the last week!!!!

Unfortunately we didn't get round to sorting out the camera properly and only fitted it in the final where the battery isolator failed. Therefore we only have a tiny bit of footage and only a few seconds full boost blast down the pit straight where you can see how fast the car is. Just compare how fast the car goes through the gears compared to last year to see how hard this new engine pulls!!!! And sorry, but the quality isn't that great...

Anyway, here's the footage:-

Bloody bad luck again. However it sounds very promising overall. Im amazed Scuffers is not wearing fireproof gloves though.

It seems to be getting there, slowly but surely. My mate who works for RCM, said you looked ruddy quick during practice....the fact that the car was a bonfire 3 weeks ago is a credit to you all....

Positive signs.....

For anyone who's free on Sunday the 9th June and fancies a trip over to Snetterton, we'll be there taking part in round 3 of the UK Time Attack series.

As per usual, there will be some very serious and interesting cars taking part which you can get right up close to. Roger Clarke Motorsport will be competing in their highly anticipated 'Gobstopper 2' impreza for the first time, which should be a sight to behold. Some cars will be hitting around 180mph down the back straight which if you know Snett, is quite unbelievable!!! There will also be some racing and drifting taking place too.

Also, this weekend is part of one of the 'Modified Live' events, so it'll be quite busy with the usual comedy value, large quantity of chavs and "conservatively" dressed young ladies. Always good for a laugh!!!!

Anyway, if you make it, please come straight into our pits and have a chat.

I'm planning on going as Mad Mike is doing drift demos, an opportunity not to be missed :) I'll definitely make a point of heading the pits to see your awesome Exige too

Just to say that we have our 4th round of the year this Saturday the 20th. It's at Oulton Park on the international circuit and should be a great one for us. So, if you're at a loose end, please pop over and say hi. We're in pit garage no.1.

More development work has been done in the last few weeks and we're gradually working through the little niggles that have occurred. Quantum have made some changes to out development dampers and also checked them over etc. We have also gone up in spring rate quite a bit due to the cornering grip that we now have, and to avoid anymore horrible driveshaft angles.

We've also addressed the melting issues we were having with our turbo water/oil feed pipes and have had our manifold Zircotec coated to get rid of a bit of radiant heat. Think Automotive have also made us up some 'proper' pipework to give them a better chance of holding up.

The other main thing that we have done, is to fit an adjustable Toda exhaust cam gear to our engine. Unfortunately we now don't have time to go to the dyno before the weekend, but when we do, it should allow us to have a proper play around with the power characteristics of the engine and also release a few extra bhp.

Anyway, here's part 1 of a nice little feature on the car from Racetech:-
