P4N Lotus Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Leading on from "I said I wouldn't mod" post, I was given a tip about Nouvalari Exhaust systems of Watnall nottingham, a small team of craftsmen and engineers who will custom build your exhaust to spec to whatever sound you are looking for. They have a massive Ferrari following for building some of the most rasping sounding Ferrari exhausts (google it on YouTube for examples). Nouvalari basically build systems for some of the manufacturers (used to build for larini) and working with quicksilver to name a couple. I met Bob (partner of the business) , explained my evora sounding like it was a milk float (v6 soooo quiet - not great) , I said I wanted something vastly improved that actually sounded like there was an engine there, I said I liked the ferrari sound but didnt like the harsh rasp sounds they had (too tinny), I said I wanted more noise , deep more depth and throaty. 4-5 hours later brand new finely crafted exhaust , pitch must growlly now , pretty deep, lots of depth , love it! I'd describe the sound as Rich/Regal/Creamy or smooth feels n sounds very much like a different beast now , feels like there's some grand v8 out of a Aston or Merc now. Although doesn't really sound like an Aston , sounds pretty unique but very much love the depth, and deep growll. it's not overly powerful, it's just about bareable without being too much, cruising around its relaxed, high revs sounds very nice. I will try and post up some audio soon, but well worth a visit if your looking for a reasonable priced (I'm not allowed to discuss) exhaust , bespoke to your requirements. I mentioned that there were a lot of forum members on mids forum and he welcome anyone to contact him if you are looking for something taylored to your ear. They build and fit them on site 4-5 hours from build to fitting. They build for mainly Ferrari's, Astons, think I was first Evora and lotus they built for but said anyone with Elise , Exige or Evoras or even the classics if your looking for something different better prices than what you'd pay elsewhere through likes of larini then he welcomes you to get in touch or pop down. I can't fault them, very impressed with end result and sound , very reasonable , very good service, they even dropped me off at work and picked me up for collection as I work only a mile away. They team down there all down to earth couldn't fault them. He did also recommend taking off the two cats on the evora to enhance it (I haven't got the patience to change before mots though) Www.nouvalari.com (ask for bob or John)
scatty Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Sounds good Paul. We need some sound action though. A nice job for you over the weekend. In fact come on the breakfast run Sunday and we will do it for you....
P4N Lotus Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 No but suggested they would be restricting it pretty significantly but probably due to the lower emissions, reckon one would be enough to pass. Much cheaper than the likes of larini, quicksilver, supersprint - probably better sound too, atleast it goes into local economy , check them out on YouTube The evora sounds more like the BMW z1 example if I'm honest
Elaine Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Sounds like a great service, and exhaust! Our S4s already had the Sports exhaust fitted when we bought it, but it sounds like somewhere that we'd use when that goes... Elaine&Rich.
Steve J Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Also known as P D Gough. They made me my repackable exhaust a few years ago. IIRC they make the Quicksilver exhausts. Pleased with mine and nice chaps. I think a couple of other MLOCers have used them a couple of years ago.
olliecast Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 all my mates are the welders / builders there they`ve made me a fair few exhaust in the past. Really good lads! your car caused quite a stirr! hope you dont mind me posting.... https://fbcdn-sphoto...992703260_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphoto..._62532591_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphoto...053037608_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphoto...496543791_n.jpg ive also got a video of your if you want me to try and host
P4N Lotus Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 Sure please post the video up , glad it casued a stir was good to meet you all down there, thanks for the work
Acehole Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Come on spill the beans on cost, that's what we are interested in !! I will be after a new zorst for my s2 111s soonish and live round the corner from them. Will I have change out of 500 nicker. Acehole
Steve J Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Mine was £300 for a stainless repackable back box and a new 200 cell cat. Wasn't polished or fancy, just made functional. Considering taking the Punto over to get the rotten mild steel system replaced. Bound to still be cheaper than what Fiat want to charge for a replacement back box alone.
P4N Lotus Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 Apologies for sound recording on some of these, the idiot filming decided to cover the mic on one of these videos (the best one as well) sounds like its filmed in a bath. So this is a Nouvalari Rear Exhaust fitted, the originally is silent, I wanted something meatier, deeper and like there was an engine in there, just right for me, for others might be still bit loud, its nothing like how loud my elise was but that was properly mean and too much. Have a listen let me know your thoughts, just gutted the mic is covered over the best one couple of others http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saXLldFJAhM
Elaine Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 You can't really tell on the videos. *tuts* Well, not on this laptop... We'll just have to wait until we see you at a meet.
P4N Lotus Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 Yeh it's more of a deep sub frequency note than a high raspy sound , just annoyed that mic was covered on one of them
M@r]{ Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Did you forget you exit on that roundabout? Come on, how much?
