On the road.........not really, just a bit spirited on some nice roads, the drive to an Anglesey trackday was a great run and good to give it some stick but nothing silly.

On track.......oh yes, all 8600rpm :D

Drive to my limits which are much lower than the cars.

The odd launch from lights

Wouldn't say I rag it at all.

I never take mine above 4k rpm.

Until it warms up that is.

Had a really bad crash when I was 17. Never drove like an idiot on the road again. Id say spirited but not rag.

On Trac I like to let my hair down when it works...

This thread reminds me of just how easy it is to drive an Exige/Elise/VX220 in a spirited manner, we were pleasantly shocked in 2004 coming from 4yrs of Turbo Esprit ownership... The Esprit is a totally different kettle of fish. You WILL respect it, or it WILL catch you out, and wipe the floor with your little ass! ohmy.giflaugh.gifwink.png

But I love the challenge,

As said i drive like a total wuss, only time I red line is off the lights rest of the time spend tootling along. which i do enjoy, life is not a race.

however it would be nice now and again to hoof it around a corner or round an island, dont have the money for car limits at the moment.

4 off news tyres runined that one.

is the anywhere in nottingham that has a piece of open tarmac for me to mess around on. wouldn't do anything silly on the roads as I am useless at driving and wouldnt want to cause any accidents due to my lack of talent.

Get yourself along to a Car Limits Activity Day, same venue just 25-30 of you sharing the day.

And you should have took my advice with regards to the tyres, you'd have saved yourself £300 and have been able to spend it on a Car Limits Training day :P

I'll be looking to do a carlimits day in the next couple of months - we could pair up for that maybe? It would be good to go with someone who's equally n00b as me :)

Do Blyton on 12th May (soz Mark!). £100 is it? Great place to see what you and your car can do in safety.

I'm doing a charity bike ride on the 12th May, otherwise i probably would've done that

Yep guilty, wait for it to warm up then give it hell! I do have mechanical sympathy though so nothing really abusive... I might be guilty off the odd roundabout slide too on occasion

Reasonably often, and its not a rag its a micro fibre cloth :)

Sensible spirited driving really, with mechanical sympathy thrown in - use the power when needed and called for, not to abuse - although I have pulled away at junctions etc rather quickly at times :)

Given that the Elise can sustain over 1G of cornering force, I can say with certainty that I barely scratch the surface of what is possible!!!

I'm pretty good at stamping on the brakes and shocking who ever is in the car with me. Not exactly cleaver or skilful, but fun :-)
