Toyo 888 Tyres In Cold Weather Warning

I know some people favour these tyres but please see the warning issued by Toyo about the impact of the cold on them.

is it not true that all these soft performance tyres are rated for summer use. i changed my yokos for Hancooks on my elise for the winter and changed the rosso's to dunlop S1 on the evora also; negligable grip in our cold winter days.
