Alex B Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Washer jets packed in on the second half of today's meet, and I not cannot clean my windscreen which is a little bit inconvenient. I've checked the pipe work that's all clear as I rigged my compressor up to it and cleaned it all out. Had a look on seloc for which fuse controls it had no luck. So it's either he motor/pump or a fuse? Any pointers? Cheers
John FISH Curtis Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Is the washer motor turning? Is the washer motor blocked with cr@p? Jet nozzles blocked (use a pin to clean) The main fusebox is located in the front services compartment on the passenger side, and is protected by a clear plastic cover. For access, remove the passenger side front body access panel followed by the radiator air deflector panel. Fuse 4 - 15A
Alex B Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 Cheers for the reply fish, was the specific fuse I was after as couldn't figure out which one it was. Nozzles are clear as I checked this with the air line and the pin method. The washer bottle did have a lot of crap in the bottom which I have rinsed out. From what I can gather the pump isn't doing anything, however I don't think it's blocked as when you pull the out going pipe off it allows water to run through it(turned off)
Jonathan E Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Not sure on the fuse for an S2 but, the stalk can fail and also the small pump on the bottle itself can die,especially if it gets full of cack,or finally the relay, if its the relay get yourself the VW article with variable speed intermittent, great mod . Not expensive or difficult to change.
