flibberflops Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 The interior of my Exige S2 stinks! Yeah, ok I haven't used it much over the winter but it really, really honks. I am guessing it is a damp issue but I can't understand what is smelling. There are only three items that has and material on... The seats, door cards and dash (all Alcantara) but none of them feel damp at all? Any Ideas what it is... and how to de honk?
ollie Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Check the roofling for damp. If the seals have gone water gets in and can make it smell damp.
stockhome Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I had the same in my car a few years ago never found out what is was
John FISH Curtis Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Is it garaged? Under covers? Should always leave the windows down a little. Does it smell damp or something stronger/different?
scatty Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 There was a chap on seloc who left a cover on for a month or so and his suede steering wheel went mouldy... Sounds like windows down , squirt of fabreeze and a 90 mph blat up the motorway should freshen it up....
flibberflops Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 The car is kept outside under a cover. I think it is a damp smell... but nothing feels damp at all... no sign of mold or anything.
John FISH Curtis Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 squirt of fabreeze and a 90 mph blat up the motorway .... Typical S2 driver!!!!!!!
flibberflops Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 I was out in the sunny weather today and I had totally forgotten about the smell..... until I switched on the heater! So, its definitely the heater... can someone please advise me where the air path is and how to check it out? I would like as much info as possible before I attempt handstands in cockpit!
