Harmy2010 Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 There are 3 types of Lotus exhaust, they are all pretty poor but the Stage 2 is crapper still and stupidly loud. Jim at 2Bular is hugely passionate about what he does, meeting requirement for individuals like me in my current project based on a K20 big bore or those who track day a lot (like me) and need to meet noise regs at places like Donny's 98db drive by. S/C car particularly suffer here with decat and induction but not NA. What Scatty says is very true, if you want loud he'll make it that way, but if you want sensible it comes as standard. I've just PM'd back, please feel free to ask questions. Selling my kit is a side issue, it'll go simple as. I just want to give you the correct info as I'm passionate about the NA 2zz. I am not trying to (as Frank would say and that's another story) bullshit you. NA Rocks :-) I am not after loud. I am keeping the standard exhaust on it, but just putting a decat on for a touch more volume(maybe a few pops on the overrun). I actually had not considered 2bular, but i will check the website and see what they have to offer. i was just going to see if miltek made a cat back exhaust for the S2 Exige.

Go 2bular, stick with a Lotus specialist. Of course this is up to you it's your baby but I would try to understand more about the car and the mods others have done in the community first and with whom before putting anything on your car. JSR, ask him your question buddy, he 's done all the work on mine.

Eric Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I was looking at the supercharged ones but there is something pure about a mid engined, rear drive NA that appealed to me:) I used to think like that....... until I drove my first Exige S and it absolutely blew my socks off (not literally, of course ). Now on my second - a 240PP, and this one is just bonkers. Not only does it have a very decent slug of mid-range torgue (completely missing from N/A cars - sorry) but also has the mad Toyota top-end (more revs == more power) right up to the "please change gear" lights coming on, and all accompanied by the supercharger chain saw sound track - love it!!!!

scatty Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 how has the first week of ownership been????
Harmy2010 Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 Well i how has the first week of ownership been???? Its been great, its stayed reasonably dry so i have been able to drive it properly, without fear of the back overtaking the front Being stuck in traffic has been quite a conspicuous affair though, but other than that i have been loving it. Its a very addictive car to drive, the kind of car that when you lock it and walk away, you look back and think 'yep thats mine'
Harmy2010 Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 Been down to JSR. Car was given a clean bill of health, Aside from been told to get the tyres off and the pads will soon need a change Happy the car is not a disaster area Saw an awesome 500BHP S1. its was a beast.
mad4cars Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Just had the Lotus Sport supercharger fitted to my R along with the Lotus Stage 3 or 'Sport' exhaust (made by Janspeed i believe) and am extremely pleased with the results! Low down grunt is transformed and it pulls like a train in comparison to the N/A car. Sounds glorious too with the new backbox - far more inspiring than the standard one which sounded like a hairdryer! I know this is seemingly an expensive route to go for so little horses but the effect belies the apparent small increase in power. IMO car also has bags more charcter than before. BTW mine came with Super Sport suspension and AO48s from factory and i'm not experiencing any tractability issues yet although its yet to get really cold here down South and we've had a good spell of dry weather!
scatty Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Good news harmy. Nowt too expensive...and a good specialist on your doorstep... Result!!!!!!
Harmy2010 Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 Good news harmy. Nowt too expensive...and a good specialist on your doorstep... Result!!!!!! Very happy:) Always abit tense when a specialist is looking over the car, i was expecting 'this has MX5 front end welded to your exige rear' Has anyone changed there headlamps to HID's? i have been looking but which bulbs do i change? H7 or H1's?
scatty Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 yes, mine are hid's. the previous owner did the conversion. a million times better and well worth doing. i honestly cant remember what bulbs they are though.lol...the packet says prism on them, thats all i can tell you... (scatty yet again sparkles with mechanical/electical genius)

I was like 'i will stop you there, if it does not involve a hammer, i will just bring it to you!' Now i know the car is ok, i had a bit of a play on the way home just now....wowza!!! i need to get it one of those car limit sessions booked, its driving me at the moment, i am using about 20% of its potential, while using about 80% of mine
