Change of plans. Now going for the Jewellery District. Decided to rent near work for the short term. Or down near the Canals at the NIA. Anyone know friends who own anything to rent around these two areas? MLOC rates. wink.gif Got to be in pretty quick though, starting the job 1st October. And It looks like I've hit central Birmingham right in the middle of the silly season. bangin.gif Graduates and just graduated professions everywhere apparently, so I've been told. Have several morning Apartment viewings lined up tomorrow, so hope to have something in the bag by the end of the day. That's if I can get the second Agents to fit some afternoon viewings in for me. It sounds very busy out there.

Good Luck finding somewhere.

I would imagine that living near the centre of Brum would be good if you're a young 'un. Plenty of places for going out in the evening.

Oh, and good luck with the new job too.

The canals by the NIA is basically Broad St (busy street for going out) I would go down at night if I was you to gauge the noise levels.

Once again, wise words from Sheldon.

Taken from Trip Advisor's "Birmingham: Nightlife" section:

"Broad Street is probably the most infamous area to go for a late night drink in Birmingham. Broad Street is a 1/2 mile road that houses almost nothing but bars and clubs. This may sound like it's what you're after for a night out, but it can be very 'lively' and as a consequence you will see hoards of the local police force keeping an eye on the revelers. Broad Street is a mecca for Stag and Hen nights and also attracts many of the suburban districts of Birmingham. Much of the clientelle tend to be between 18-25; although some bars are now '21 and over' in an effort to deter some of the teenage drinkers that loiter around Birmingham's Party Mile."

Depends what you're looking for, and what you're used to!

Defiantly not Stag dos and Hen nights.

After a few viewings, spent a couple of hours down there with someone who knows the area very well. Don't think I've ever learned so much about a city centre so quickly. Although it's a compact centre. Found it similar to Leeds. Places I'm looking are, Jewellery Quarter, Financial District, some of the City Centre and Brindley Place/NIA area. Definitely not Broad St or Queensway/New Street, or anything South of that line. There's a ton of Apartment blocks/developments in the area, but it's the short time frame that's the fun part. nopity.gif
