Aimee Lotus Silverstone
WHY? Air Conditioning is a service item. If the system isn't maintained, then the natural ability of the refrigerant to find a way out means the system's efficiency will decline, even within the first 3 years. The Systems needs to be used regularly to ensure the oil is circulated and is able to keep the system's seals from drying out and therefore maintaining an effective barrier to the refrigerant. Equally, if the system allows refrigerant to escape, then air and moisture can enter the system, with hidden, but serious internal damage. The moisture combines with the refrigerant to form an acidic mixture that corrodes the systems from inside out. Another problem is that as the refrigerant level decreases, the whole system becomes increasingly inefficient, causing the compressor to work harder, with a subsequent rise in fuel consumption 'Sick Car Syndrome' You may have already heard of 'Sick Car Syndrome'? This is where the heat exchanger within the vehicle cabin becomes contaminated and harbours bacteria. These can create a bad odour, or even worse, can cause respiratory infections in the driver and passengers. So by getting your air conditioning serviced can prevent some more severe problems developing and potentially stop the need for more expensive repairs in the future. LOTUS SILVERSTONE CAN HELP SAVE YOUR CAR! Lotus Silverstone now have 2 fully trained technicians to prevent the problems mentioned above. You can now book your vehicle in for the air Con service as part of your annual service or you can book as a separate job at time suitable for you. AIR CONDITIONING SERVICE: £65 inc VAT. Aimee Lotus Silverstone
Good Afternoon Steve, There are no parts to be replaced as such.... We would remove and replace the refrigerant (R134a) and PAG Oil. The work takes about an hour to complete. Thanks, Aimee.
