jonathan eco man
With warmer weather finally blessing these fair shores, you may be feeling the lure of a long ride in the countryside. If so, the open-topped Lotus Electrive concept is the ideal car for you. Designed inhouse by Diseno-art.com owner Jeff Darling, the Lotus Seven-inspired Electrive is (surprise, surprise) powered by a 'fully electric' drivetrain. At the front of the Electrive you'll find rechargeable Lithium-Polymer batteries - the same as those found in the Lightening GT sports car. As well as being able to recharge the batteries using a traditional electric socket, the owner can also use the solar panels that come with the car to recharge it while out on the open road. At the back of the car, two electric motors power the rear wheels. Looking at the Electrive's proportions and styling, such as its soft, rounded lines, it's evident the designer has paid homage to the classic Lotus Seven sports car that was produced between 1957 and 1972. Should it start to pour down while you're enjoying your escapade in the countryside, you'll be relieved to learn the Electrive does have waterproof seats that can be quite easily wiped down. There's also a tonneau cover so you can keep the inside (and your belongings) safe if you decide to go off for a walk. http://www.orange.co.uk/images/editorial/l...-200-140609.jpg
