Very good ! Was it TR Autos that sorted it?

It was TR Autos in Bidford-on-Avon... I'm not a fan of garages in general, but I have to say I am impressed. Customer service, their approach, infact everything has been really excellent. They have seen a few Elises before, so I am happy to recommend them for anyone needing some K series engine work.

The only part they are not experienced with is removing the clam, so they asked if I could remove it to prevent risk of scratches etc. Glad they were honest.

Glen, speaking to the garage about yours, they say the timing can not be checked in situ, but needs removing and the correct assembly jigs fitted to get it right. Seems the holes mentioned are not used by Rover when setting.

I'm please you got it sorted.

If you don't mind me asking, how much it will cost me to get mine done? (feel free to PM me if you don't want it common knowledge).

The Blue Bomber now appears to be in rude health. Im very relieved as i felt partially responsible. It also feels markedly quicker than before the head work  Its also a lot shiner than its ever been.

Feels like a new car again! Thanks for your help Martin pulling it apart, and putting together again. Not that shiny at the moment... quick wash and a fresh layer of wax will see that sorted mind!

Glad it's sorted Matt. Not the cause everyone was expecting though, considering the build provenance.
