  1. 1. If you had the money which do you think suits the Elise/Exige the most?

Komo-Tec 280 on ExigeS IF

a) Proven installation and

:D Hangar111 prices were the same or similar to having work done by Komo-Tec in Germany.

N/A Honda if I had the cash. The SC Honda is undoubtably brilliant, but possibly a bit too mental for the roads.

Agreed.

Less is sometimes more. s/c is undeniably faster but it's "lazy" power - so fast you can blast past other cars on track in whatever gear, on a wave of torque. That's not such a challenge as working with a peakier power band and concentrating on maximum corner entry & exit speed for your overall pace. Also, the s/c cars kill their brakes & tyres too fast for any lasting enjoyment on track - limited to 15/16 or 16/17" wheels and 195/225 section tyres, the forces quickly overwhelm the components.

The question is which engine suits the cars best.

Well I voted other - but I am biased :)

Should be parked up 'infield' at Donington on Sunday if anyone wants to look at the Silverstone Performance SC install.

What is that mini V8 engine that was nocking about a couple of years back? SVT, SRT or something like that. I believe it manly utilised big bike V4 technology.

I voted Duratec....although there is no power output specified. A 300bhp Duratec would probably fit the bill quite nicely.....

Honda SC feels the best IMO. Very progressive but doesn't feel that it has too much power for the car to cope with. Don't know where the idea comes from that it's too fast for the road. I find it perfectly fine for road driving (where you shouldn't really be pushing anywhere near the limits anyway) but on track is where you can use all the capabilities. Have to say though that once you have driven one for a while, it doesn't feel that the limits are unexploitable.

I was pondering this for a while when outside a garage in Silverstone Paddock today I heard a conversation as I was packing my work gear up that went like this<

Porsche 911/996 Owner "BLO*DY HELL you were fast, you gave me a real hard time out there! What's in it?

Exige Owner " 1.8 K-Series Rover."

Porsche 911/996 Owner " :) "

Now that was priceless!!!
