  1. Morning all... pleased to say that after 12 months without a Lotus in my life I finally have another (rather special) Elise in the garage. Took delivery of a vivid green Cup 250 Final Edition around six weeks ago and have been smiling ever since 😄 On the direct instruction of Ray (😉), I've included a couple of pics below (if you're on Instagram there are plenty more if you're interested - http://instagram.com/kerm111t/). We'll also be posting a video about the car on the One Eleven Cars YouTube channel in the next couple of weeks (if you're not already subscribed we'd really apprecia

  2. Just picked up my 111R after a lot of service work at PJS and I have to say it’s changed my recently purchase car from fun to drive to an absolute pleasure. New front and rear springs and dampers, track rod end, anti roll bushes as well as a new radiator and fans. It took longer and cost a little more due to the bodged repairs it’s it’s earlier life but I am really pleased with the work and care taken on my Elise. I have to save up now to sort the bodywork out, maybe during the winter as I need to be driving it during the hopefully sunny summer.

  3. Its been awhile since being on here! and I haven't seen a lot of you in blooming ages1 Back in March last year I decided to bite the bullet and go head first into an engine swap in my S1, Covid helped this somewhat by stopping my boys football/rugby training and matches giving me week day nights and weekends. First I needed to source an engine, after Alan and Alex having there cars to ponder over I was initially looking at a K20A2 EP3 engine, but finding one under 100k was near on impossible unless it was re built and costing a small fortune! So I decided to look at the slightly

  5. Another week has gone by and the Evora delivered in spades on a 300-mile round trip to Hethel for our MLOC tour of Classic Team Lotus. The afternoon before the trip I decided on the spur of the moment to wrap the sills in gloss black. Don’t ask me why, I just decided to get on with it! Took this at Ketteringham Hall, home to Team Lotus F1 back in the 1970's. I’m loving the black sills look and am planning to do the front splitter - possibly today - but not the roof, I quite like that in silver with the diamond cut wheels.

  6. Well after very many years/months the application for an IVA test is in. Pretty much finished, couple of little bits to do but almost ready to roll! Suspension now set up. Car looked over and nothing major in terms of IVA, just a couple of tiny changes just to be safe. And removing the masking tape off the leading edge of the door.

  12. What a fantastic weekend we have just witnessed for F1 and in particular for Lewis Hamilton, yes he is not everyone’s favourite for what ever reason usually the wrong ones. What he achieved this weekend was a true masterclass in driving ability. One of the most epic comebacks you will ever witness.

  13. I’ll never forget saying to Joanne in early 2007, “watch this boy” when Hamilton was being featured in the run up to his infamous rookie season alongside Alonso at McLaren. Prior to that season I hadn’t watched F1 since the late 90’s. Since that year started I haven’t missed a race. Says it all 👍🏻

  14. Back home now after a 200 mile round trip to pick up new Elise, visit and stay at my aunts place near Oxford, then home. What a great car, quick, less noisy than I was expecting, more comfy than I thought it would be. Turns heads. Needs a dam deep clean and polish everywhere, and some TLC to some of the trim. Now I think this is a keeper instead of my black Elise, so will look to sell that one in January. Badg settled in straight away when I got home

  15. Couldn’t agree more, love him or hate him (personally it’s the racing I want to see, I don’t care what the drivers are like as people!) Lewis has just driven the wheels off the Merc all weekend - a cut above every other driver. Absolutely incredible performance. I personally hope he wins the next two to set up an amazing finale.

  18. I'm donating money to offset the CO² from the petrol i use. It funds CO²-saving projects in countries that need it most. At 8 euros per 1000 miles, it's affordable (based on 35mpg). It's not the solution to all problems, but hopefully it helps until sustainable petrol is in the pumps. You could do it too. Www.atmosfair.de

  24. I always loved the 1.5litre turbo F1 era…these jewels producing up to 1000bhp in race trim and supposedly up to 1500 for qualifying! I wonder what this is like inside?

  25. I agree. I surprised myself on Sunday on the Classic Team Lotus visit…270 miles at the speed limit on fast dual carriageway/motorways (not my choice of Elise road but that’s the way Tom Tom sent me!) inc some ‘spirited’ driving for the last 25 miles home across the Peak District…..brim-to-brim refuel gave 52mpg!! From a 23-yr old S1 k-series with 63k miles roof off and windows down!

  29. Good Morning All, I'm posting up my experience in case anyone else was thinking about getting their geo done. I have had my 220 Cup car for a year and it's my first Lotus so I didn't have a Lotus benchmark for handling but had wondered about the car feeling twitchy at speed so hearing how pleased Ray was after his car was geo'd at PJS, I thought I would give it a go. Nick at PJS did all the work which was very comprehensive and involved discussing options with me (for example, to ensure the car was equally sorted whether I had my Yoko V105s or Toyo R888Rs on) as well as explaining a

  31. Thanks guys. So nice to hear such lovely heartfelt comments. Part of the reason for the heart strings twanging at this decision is how great the community is, and I include everyone in here I have/haven’t met. Truly hope to be back in a Lotus but our young family need a dad with a 4 seat car. Best Matt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  38. Toyota are there, and there is something on the lotus website too. I couldn't see Caterham, BAC, KTM, Polestar etc. Perhaps we are that niche now! Or perhaps the UK government should think a bit more about it's UK manufacturing entities. (hee hee, I got to write the word titties without incurring the wrath of #metoo, or perhaps not now I've said that...................!)

  43. I can't see that there was any finance Phil - I asked for (and received) copies of the invoice (which showed it was paid by credit card number *********1234, as they do) and the full payment credit card receipt with the same number. My only concern was the possibility of a 'log book loan' but he had both keys and the original V5 so that seemed unlikely too. I was going to do a proper HPI check (not a cheapy!) to further cover that risk. No, I think it was a straight up car, I simply misjudged the situation by making an offer rather than going straight in at asking. Covid further complicat
