Car fans across the world have helped the Lotus Exclusive service by choosing one of the most famous racing colour schemes for a run of extremely limited Evora 400 Exclusive editions.
Challenging enthusiasts to pick their preference from a selection of carefully curated designs, penned by Lotus’ design team, the social media poll on Lotus’ Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages, saw modern interpretations of classic automotive colour combinations, as well as some established Lotus liveries.
The outright winner was revealed as the Blue & Orange edition, recalling the famous racing colour scheme first seen in the 1960s, with a complementary palette inside, setting black leather upholstery against orange contrast stitching.
The new Blue and Orange limited edition Evora 400 is the latest Lotus sports car to help mark 2016 as the 50^th anniversary since the founding of the Lotus Factory and Headquarters in Hethel, Norfolk.

With a special paint colour and orange and white decal stripes, the Exclusive design gave fans the opportunity to give the modern Evora 400 a thoroughly retro look. Black forged wheels and red brake calipers complete the car’s distinctive look.

Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus plc said, “Any one of the designs in the poll would have been a worthy winner. So now that the poll has finished and with thousands of votes cast, we have decided that the winner will make it into production. We only plan to build 10 of these Evora 400 sports cars in total so with their rarity, I expect them to quickly become very desirable.”

About the Evora 400
As one of the most significant models in the company’s history, the Lotus Evora 400 drives home the company’s commitment to developing pure, driver-focused sports cars.
Developed through Lotus’ Lightweight Laboratory, the car’s low mass of 1,395 kg drastically enhances its performance. As a result, the Evora 400 accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds) and continues on to deliver a maximum speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
Combining a lightweight revised aluminium chassis with a high-output engine, to deliver remarkable performance, its supercharged and charge-cooled, mid-mounted 3.5-litre V6 engine produces 400 hp and 410 Nm of torque. The car’s efficient composite body, flat-floor, rear diffuser, three-element rear wing all enhance aerodynamics, generating significant downforce of 32 kg at 150 mph (241 mk/h).
The Lotus Evora 400 enjoys a high specification as standard, including 370 mm composite two-piece brake discs from AP Racing, a Limited Slip Differential (LSD), automatic air-conditioning and infotainment system with satellite navigation. Options include automatic transmission and cruise control.
As an alternative to the 6-speed gearbox, with the torsen-type LSD as standard, a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic gearbox is available. With electronically optimised up-shifts. Drivers can change gears manually via forged aluminium paddles mounted to the steering wheel, or rely on the gearbox’s fully automatic mode.
As befitting a hand-built car, the cabin of the Evora 400 uses the highest quality materials, including Alcantara and leather, while the driver-orientated layout provides ergonomically optimised controls. Very much a usable 2+2 coupe, passenger space is improved on the previous model, with greater legroom and wider rear seats, and the chassis revisions have increased the size of the door aperture, making it easy to enter and exit the Evora 400.

• Honour recognises exceptional service to the motor industry
• Ceremony is part of Luxembourg’s National Day celebrations
Recognising his significant and ongoing contribution to the Motor Industry, Lotus CEO, Jean-Marc Gales has been awarded the title Commander of the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg following a ceremony in the country’s capital.
Jean-Marc Gales received the Commander of the Order of Merit from His Royal Highness Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg. Held at the Luxembourg Philharmonie, during the country’s National Day celebrations, the honour was vested during the annual ceremony, and cited Jean-Marc Gales’ ‘distinguished international career’, ‘exceptional service’, and ‘stunning commitment’.
Speaking after the ceremony, Jean-Marc Gales said: “I’m very proud of my Luxembourg heritage and I am honoured to have received this title and be recognised in such a way. The automotive industry is a challenging, fascinating and exciting business to be in and I continue to thoroughly enjoy it. My current role at Lotus is certainly the most rewarding as, together with our dedicated and hardworking staff, we have succeeded in turning the Lotus business around.”
Growing up in the era of Team Lotus Formula 1 World Champions including Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt and Mario Andretti, Jean-Marc Gales enjoyed an early fascination with Lotus and its cars. He cites a childhood visit to a local Lotus dealer in Luxembourg as a pivotal moment, helping define his future path. Today, he retains strong personal links with the country and frequently returns.
Graduating with an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany and an MSc in Management from London's Imperial College, Jean-Marc’s career has seen him work for many of the world’s best-known car marques.
Prior to his appointment at Lotus, Jean-Marc Gales was Chief Executive Officer of the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (“CLEPA”), before which he was the President of Automobiles Citroen and Automobiles Peugeot. His other previous appointments include senior positions in Daimler AG, General Motors and Volkswagen AG.
Joining Lotus in 2014, Jean-Marc has implemented and overseen a plan which has overhauled the business. With the support of the team at Hethel, Norfolk and the company’s owners, DRB-HICOM, Group Lotus has now returned to strength. Expected to deliver a profit this financial year, it will be the first time in the company’s history that both the car and engineering divisions have made a positive contribution to the business.
As part of this return to form, production of cars at the company’s factory is expected to exceed 2000 vehicles this financial year.

3-Eleven
Showing clear intent for the Lotus high-performance sports cars of the future, the 3-Eleven is the company’s quickest and most expensive series production car ever.
The 3-Eleven offers a giant-slaying power-to-weight ratio, thanks to a revised V6 supercharged engine developing 460 hp, to provide in excess of 500 hp per tonne. It is capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).
Designed to deliver a pure, undiluted driving experience, the Lotus 3-Eleven utilises an all-new lightweight carbon composite body, and a bespoke chassis evolved from Lotus’ ground-breaking work with extruded and bonded aluminium sections.
As part of its development the Lotus 3-Eleven spent time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where it was one of the fastest road going cars to ever tackle the track, capable of setting a sub-7 minute lap time.
One year on from its global unveiling, this matt and gloss Black 3-Eleven will be on display at this years’ Goodwood Festival of Speed with Bell & Colvill, the most successful and longest serving Lotus dealer in the world. A second giant killing Lotus 3-Eleven will be taking part in the Michelin Supercar run on all three days of the Festival.

Elise Cup 250
With the Lotus Elise recently crowned as Readers’ Champion during the Autocar Awards, this latest version of the legendary car is the faster ever - with a 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 154 mph (248 km/h).
Powered by a new higher-output version of the supercharged, 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine, the Elise Cup 250 boasts 243 hp. However, in order to make the most of its power, it’s shed 21kg compared to its predecessor, to weight just 931 kg. Customers wanting to cut weight still further, and so boost performance, can select the optional Carbon Aero Pack to reduce the vehicle’s mass to 921 kg.
The hand-built sports car has long been regarded as a benchmark within the industry, providing a level of precision and driver involvement that rivals cannot match. Capable of lapping the company’s test track in 1 minute 34 seconds, the changes and engineering adaptions to the Elise Cup 250 have taken an impressive four seconds off the previous Elise Cup 220’s best time.

Beating some of the best cars ever built, the landmark Lotus Elise has been announced as Readers’ Champion during the prestigious Autocar Awards, after tens of thousands of motoring fans voted in an online competition.
From a starting roster of 50, the final shortlist of cars contained just ten contenders and voting was tight as the two-week competition drew to a close.
Receiving the award during the Autocar Awards ceremony on Tuesday evening at Silverstone, Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus plc said: “Winning the Readers’ Champion Award shows what a key role the Elise continues to play in the automotive industry. When it was launched it shook the rest of the automotive industry into acknowledging and understanding the importance of lightweight when producing class-leading sports cars – redefining the segment. It is one of the all time greats which is always copied but never equalled.”

About the Evora 400
Representing a significant development over the previous model, the Evora 400 has established
itself one of the most significant Lotus models for a generation.
Developed through Lotus’ Lightweight Laboratory concept, the car is 42 kg lighter than its
predecessor, thanks to a host of weight-saving measures. As a result, the limited edition Evora
400 accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds) and delivers a
maximum speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). The Evora 400 is capable of lapping the Norfolk site’s
challenging test track in 1 minute 31 seconds.

Over two thirds of the Lotus Evora 400 has been revised, including its supercharged and chargecooled,
mid-mounted, 3.5-litre V6 engine, which produces 400 hp and 410 Nm of torque. This
complements a revised aluminium chassis, which offers increased torsional rigidity and reduced
weight.
However, the Evora 400 doesn’t just rely on its lightweight engineering to deliver remarkable
performance. The car’s efficient composite body, flat-floor, sizable rear diffuser and three-element
rear wing have all boosted airflow management, drastically improving aerodynamics and
effectively doubling downforce.
The Lotus Evora 400 enjoys a high specification as standard, including 370 mm composite twopiece
brake discs from AP Racing, a Limited Slip Differential (LSD), automatic air-conditioning
and infotainment system with satellite navigation. Cost options include automatic transmission
and cruise control.

A number of manual gearbox enhancements have greatly improved shift quality, delivering swift
and precise gear changes. The Torsen-type LSD is fitted as standard with the manual, to give
better traction when exiting fast corners. The automatic option has also been improved, with a
reprogrammed gearbox ECU for faster changes, while gear selection is via lightweight aluminium
paddles mounted to the steering wheel.
The car also features Lotus’ Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) which, selected via a
dashboard switch, provides ‘Sport’ and ‘Race’ settings. Proportionally increasing throttle
response, lowering traction slip thresholds and removing understeer recognition, it allows a
greater degree of driver indulgence before the system intervenes.
The Evora 400 features a revised interior, fusing elegance and functionality. As befitting a handbuilt
car, the cabin uses the highest quality materials, including Alcantra and leather, while the
driver orientated layout provides ergonomically optimised controls. Passenger space is improved,
with greater legroom and wider rear seats, and the chassis revisions have increased the size of
the door aperture, making it easy to enter and exit the Evora.

Leading London car dealer Hexagon has opened a new Lotus showroom at its flagship headquarters on Great North Road in East Finchley.
Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus plc, joined Hexagon Chairman Paul Michaels to open the new showroom earlier this week, which features the full range of new Lotus cars from the Elise right up to the incredible 3-Eleven, Lotus’ fastest production car ever.
Jean-Marc Gales said: “It was with real pride that we announced our partnership with Hexagon last year – a dealer who has a long association with the Lotus brand. I said at the time that Hexagon gives us an absolutely first-class presence in London, but this new flagship showroom in East Finchley has exceeded even our expectations. It blends modern design and luxury with a really welcoming feel and is the perfect home for our Lotus range in London.”
Hexagon Chairman Paul Michaels, said: “Redevelopment of our East Finchley flagship site is going at full speed – and the opening of our Lotus showroom is another important milestone. I was delighted to welcome Jean-Marc to north London this week and show him just why The Hexagon will be a welcoming and vibrant environment that will act as a real destination for all – not just car enthusiasts.”
The new Lotus showroom is a key part of Hexagon’s flagship East Finchley site, called The Hexagon, which has been rapidly redeveloped over the last four months with space for over 50 modern classic and classic cars.
The aim of The Hexagon is to bring together classic cars, new Lotus models and luxury lifestyle like no other location in London, with each element carefully chosen to represent the finest in its field. A coffee bar and design store will open soon with a restaurant headed up by a Michelin-starred chef opening later this year.
Hexagon is Lotus’ official London dealer and also sells the full range from its South Kensington showroom. This announcement is the latest in a long relationship between Hexagon and Lotus. Hexagon was a Lotus dealer from 1964 to 1976, and its north London headquarters, which also offer full servicing and aftercare, are just a stone’s throw from Lotus’ original base in Hornsey, where Colin Chapman and his team built the first models in the ‘50s.

Having slashed a substantial 207 kg from its cars this year alone, Lotus remains the leader in the engineering of lightweight, high performance supercars.
From the iconic Elise, through to the hypercar humbling 3-Eleven, every Lotus benefits from the company’s approach to engineering in lightness at every stage of design and construction. With its heaviest model weighing in at just 1,395 kg, it’s still streets ahead of rivals.

With a heritage of efficient design, no other car manufacturer can claim a better track record when it comes to honing road and race cars. In its 68th year, Lotus still remains true to the ethos of the company’s founder Colin Chapman, and his approach to design and construction.

Leading the field in advanced construction techniques and technology, it has continuously strived to push boundaries. The names Chapman and Lotus remain two of the most important names in the evolution of automotive design with many innovations, including the GRP monocoque in the Lotus Elite, and the bonded aluminium chassis in the Elise. Lotus was also the first company to introduce a Formula 1 car constructed from carbon fibre.
Today, Lotus cars are developed through the company’s Lightweight Laboratory concept. Far more than just a part of the famous Hethel factory, this philosophy has grown to provide a framework for evaluating every component. Why light is right
Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus plc, sees the company’s approach to engineering as its biggest strength. “We’re not concerned with following other car manufacturers. Innovation comes from taking a new approach, and we don’t stop looking. Colin Chapman famously said, ‘Adding power makes you faster on the straights, subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere,’ and that thinking has become part of our DNA.”
He continued, “To perfect a pure sports car, you must consider weight your enemy. Lose weight and you will make significant gains: harder and faster cornering, better braking, greater agility and responsiveness, along with faster acceleration.”
Looking at a car holistically allows for all redundant weight to be removed, with every part serving a purpose. This includes the use of carbon fibre which, rather than included to just boost kerb appeal, must produce tangible benefits.
Far more than just boosting straight-line performance, reducing a car’s kerb weight allows for the correct calibration of the suspension. This allows sharper handling, and better body and roll control, but not at the expense of ride comfort and composure. The overall reduction of weight also allows for optimised weight distribution, a huge contributor to the poise and balance of a sports car during high-speed cornering.

Proving this principle, Lotus’ aluminium vehicle chassis technology is still considered the benchmark within the automotive industry. Utilising strong and stiff extruded and bonded aluminium sections the simplicity off the tub construction belies its benefits.

Able to employ lightweight extrusions, joined by epoxy adhesive, it’s immensely strong and torsionally stiff, yet the chassis for the Elise and the Exige tips the scales at just 68 kgs.

Not only is this roughly half the weight of an equivalent steel chassis, it’s also substantially simpler to produce than a similar weight carbon fibre alternative and easier to adapt to the requirements of specific models.

As an antidote to sterilised and attenuated modern cars, Lotus’s approach continues to deliver a pure, undiluted driving experience. Avoiding systems that rob cars of their fun factor, including electric power steering, it places function over convenience, to produce truly involving vehicles. Its latest models continue the Lotus approach to light is right engineering.
With a kerb weight of just 1,325 kg, the Lotus Evora Sport 410 cuts 70 kg from the Evora 400 and draws heavily on Lotus’s experience with carbon fibre.

This includes a one-piece carbon tailgate, replacing five separate components on the previous version into one and saving 10 kg. Another 10 kg was saved by fitting a Li Ion battery, while the 6 kg was shed though the addition of carbon sports seats.

The Lotus Exige Sport 350 weighs just 1125 kg and every detail of this latest version was reconsidered in order to save weight and deliver a superior car including a louvered tailgate (3 kg), a redesigned gearshift mechanism (3 kg), a revised subframe (3 kg) and enhanced body panels (12 kg), resulting in a lower centre of gravity and further track-honed handling. Optional carbon composite components shed a further 30 kg, so allowing the new roadster version of the Exige Sport 350 to weigh just 1,085 kg, a reduction of 91 kg compared to the previous Exige S.

The latest versions of the legendary Lotus Elise, the Sport and Sport 220 have become lighter and even more performance-orientated. Both have both seen a weight reduction of 15 kg, including the standard lightweight sports battery, saving 3.5 kg and optional forged wheels saving 5 kg, too.

The new Lotus Elise Cup 250 is the fastest road-going Lotus Elise ever, adding 26 hp and shedding 31 kg (with lightweight options) compared to the previous Elise Cup 220. Included as standard in the Elise Cup 250 are carbon seats saving 6 kg, ultra light forged wheels saving 1.5 kg and a Li-Ion battery dropping the weight by a further 10 kg. A carbon pack (carbon rear, wing, front splitter, rear diffuser and floor extenders of components) reduces the weight of the car by a further 10 kg.

As one of the latest showrooms in the Lotus Cars Middle East portfolio, Lotus Kuwait is a key part of the plans to expand the Lotus brand across the region by developing both existing and new markets. The Lotus Driving Academy Grand Sambuc, France opens its doors at the exclusive Grand Sambuc Chateau and private race track on 5th May 2016. Heralding the next generation of Lotus high performance sports cars, the 3-Eleven is the company’s quickest and most expensive series production car ever.
Designed to deliver an undiluted experience, the Lotus 3-Eleven utilises an all-new lightweight composite body, and a bespoke chassis based on the proven Lotus design of extruded and bonded aluminium sections.
The 3-Eleven offers a giant-slaying power-to-weight ratio, thanks to a revised V6 supercharged engine developing 460 hp, to provide in excess of 500 hp per tonne. It is capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).
As part of its development the Lotus 3-Eleven spent time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where it was one of the fastest road going cars to ever tackle the track, capable of setting a sub-7 minute lap time.

The fastest ever line up of Lotus production road cars has been unveiled at this year’s Geneva International Motor Show, with carbon fibre and lightweight engineering taking centre stage.
With all of the four new models capable of 0-60 in 3.9 seconds or less, Lotus’ 2016 range drives home the company’s commitment to developing pure, driver-focused sports cars with exceptional performance.
The lightened and faster line up of Lotus cars continues the company’s recent successes. Over the last 12-months it has consistently cut mass from its vehicles in order to enhance handling and boost straight-line speed.
Covering the entire Lotus portfolio, the four new cars displayed include the debut of the Exige Sport 350 Roadster as well as the recently announced Evora Sport 410 and Elise Cup 250. If that wasn’t enough, the spectacular Lotus 3-Eleven is also on show - following its success on the notorious Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Each of the four cars in Geneva has been developed through Lotus’ Lightweight Laboratory concept. Thoroughly re-evaluated - with every component assessed, optimised and reengineered as required – the cars represent the epitome of Lotus’ “light is right” approach to engineering.
Personally pulling the covers from the lightweight legends, Lotus CEO, Jean-Marc Gales remarked on the company’s return to form, “Today, we set the benchmark for added lightness - this is what Lotus does and nobody does it better. Evora Sport 410

This new, top-of-the-range Evora has been thoroughly re-evaluated, with a 70kg drop in kerb weight and a power boost, thanks to the supercharged engine it shares with the track-bred Lotus 3-Eleven.
With a host of high-performance carbon fibre components as standard, the Lotus Evora Sport 410 clocks 0-60 in 3.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 186mph.
With a lower centre of gravity, and a kerb weight slashed to just 1,325 kg, the car provides an impressive 309 hp/tonne, and builds on the achievements of the excellent Evora 400.

In addition to boosting acceleration, the significant reduction in mass has allowed the recalibration of the suspension, with revised geometry and damping, to deliver sharper, more agile and intuitive handling. However, far from a stripped-out special, the Evora Sport 410 retains excellent road manners proving refined and composed during everyday driving.
Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus plc said, “We’ve really gone flat out to cut weight - front splitter, roof panel, tailgate, and rear diffuser, seats - all in carbon fibre. And it’s all fitted as standard on this car. Of course, by losing all this weight the car isn’t just faster, it’s also better to drive. As the logical evolution of one of Lotus’ most recent success stories, this year’s Geneva Motorshow is the world debut of the new Exige Sport 350 Roadster.
Hot on the heels of the coupe version, announced at the end of 2015, this Roadster derivative of the iconic sports car is lighter and faster than ever before, thanks to a 40 kg weight drop, compared to the hardtop version.
By selecting the lightweight options available, including a Lithium-ion battery, lightweight forged alloy wheels, cross drilled and vented two-piece brake discs, together with carbon fibre items such as the rear tailgate, side air intakes and seats as well as a revised composite front access panel the total weight of the car can be reduced to 1,085 kg – the lightest possible incarnation of the current generation Exige.
The Lotus Exige Sport 350 Roadster on display at the Geneva Motorshow benefits from not just the available lightweight options but also the Carbon Aero Pack includes a front splitter, rear wing and rear diffuser made from carbon fibre.
Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus plc, commented, “We achieved so much when developing the Exige Sport 350, reducing weight and making it even sharper and tightly focussed; and the Exige Sport 350 Roadster takes this yet further. Yet again we’ve been able to slash weight to produce something that should be on every sports car fan’s wish list.”
As the lightest ever V6 powered Exige, the 345 hp roadster boasts a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds, and a top speed of 150 mph.
The Roadster also features the heavily revised manual gearbox from the coupe, to provide faster and more precise gear selection. Using lightweight machined and cast aluminium components, the mechanism is not only aesthetically appealing but also cuts the complexity, and weight, of construction for the car’s centre console. As standard, lightweight components include a louvered tailgate panel, a lighter battery and lightweight engine mounts.
A smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic gearbox is available as an option, with electronically optimised up-shifts. Drivers can change gears manually via forged aluminium paddles mounted to the steering wheel, or rely on the gearbox’s fully automatic mode.
Optional trim packs provide a heritage theme to the cabin with lightweight sports seats and door panels clad in red or yellow Tartan, with leather or Alcantara interior trim options also available.

The legendary Elise returns to Geneva in its fastest ever guise: the Elise Cup 250.
Having shed 21 kg and gained 26 hp, the Elise Cup 250 can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and deliver a top speed of 154 mph.
Powered by a new higher-output version of the supercharged, 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine, the Elise Cup 250 boasts 243 hp. Long seen as the benchmark for handling, the Lotus Elise Cup 250 is available for the first time as a roadster as standard with a hard top available as an option.
Included on the Geneva show Elise is the optional Carbon Aero Pack which replaces the standard front splitter, rear wing, rear diffuser and side floor-extensions with lightweight carbon components. Suitable for those wanting to boost performance, the pack cuts the car’s weight by an extra 10 kg, reducing the mass to just 921 kg.

With the new car lapping the company’s test track in 1 minute 34 seconds, the changes and engineering adaptions to the Elise Cup 250 have taken an impressive four seconds off the previous Elise Cup 220’s best time.

In a move that should surprise no one, Lotus has raised the bar once again by lightening the Evora in order to develop the sensational Evora Sport 410.
Following on from the recently announced Elise Cup 250, and the Exige Sport 350, Lotus’ famous Lightweight Laboratory has been hard at work cutting the weight of the Evora 400 by a massive 70kg. With a host of high-performance carbon fibre components as standard, and sharing the 410 hp supercharged engine with the track-bred 3-Eleven, the Lotus Evora Sport 410 clocks 0-60 in 3.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 186mph.

This new, top-of-the-range Evora has been thoroughly re-evaluated, with every component assessed, optimised and reengineered as required. The Sport 410 builds on the excellent work undertaken in the development of the Evora 400, itself a massive enhancement over the first generation of Evora. However, far from a stripped-out special, the Evora Sport 410 retains excellent road manners, being refined and composed during everyday driving.
The significant drop in mass, and a power boost, means the Evora Sport 410 is capable of lapping the company’s Hethel test track in 1 minute 28 seconds* - an impressive 3 seconds faster than the Evora 400. Reflecting what Lotus does best, it demonstrates the company’s principle of ‘adding lightness’.
The Lotus Evora Sport 410 is the result of Lotus’ philosophy of continuous improvement. With a lower centre of gravity, and a kerb weight slashed to just 1,325 kg, the car provides an impressive 309 hp/tonne.
In addition to boosting straight-line speed, the significant reduction in mass has allowed sharper, more agile and intuitive handling - with even greater accuracy and feel. Jean-Marc Gales added, “The Evora chassis was already the best in the business – the Evora Sport 410 takes it to a whole new level”.
Complementing this is a higher-output version of the supercharged, 3.5-litre 6-cylinder engine, developed through the Lotus 3-Eleven project which has beaten Nürburgring records. As a result, the car boasts 410 hp at 7000 rpm and 410 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm.

The high-performance, carbon fibre components have played the single biggest role in the evolution of the Evora Sport 410. These include front splitter, roof panel, tailgate, and rear diffuser as well as race-derived sports seats and a revised front access panel. The one-piece carbon tailgate incorporates a louvered section, inspired by some of Lotus’ most-famous heritage models, and together with carbon rear quarter-light panels help provide the car with a sleeker, fastback-style trailing roofline. These changes have also improved the car’s aerodynamic downforce by 15% with no increase in drag.

The car’s reduced kerb weight has allowed the recalibration of the suspension, with improved geometry and completely revised damping, as well as a ride height 5mm lower than the Evora 400. As a result, handling is sharper, along with better body and roll control, yet ride comfort and composure is retained. Ultra light-weight, 10-spoke forged aluminium wheels, and optional Michelin Cup 2 tyres, complete the car’s dynamic revisions.

Appealing to purists, the Evora Sport 410’s manual gearbox features a low inertia flywheel, to help ensure swift changes, while a Torsen-type limited slip differential (LSD) gives better traction, and faster exit speeds when cornering. Available as an option, the automatic transmission offers gear selection via lightweight aluminium paddles mounted to the steering wheel.
The new Evora Sport 410 also features Lotus’ Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) which, selected via a dashboard switch, provides ‘Sport’ and ‘Race’ settings. Proportionally increasing throttle response, lowering traction slip thresholds and removing understeer recognition, it allows enhanced control before the system intervenes.
As standard, the Evora Sport 410 comes with carbon fibre sports seats trimmed with Alcantara®, along with the steering wheel and centre console. An integrated touch-screen entertainment system can also be specified, including iPod® connectivity and Bluetooth® functionality.

The rest of the Sport 410’s cabin has received attention as part of its development. Weight saving measures includes attractive one-piece door trim panels finished in Alcantara®, with contrast stitching, the deletion of door arm rests and stowage pockets, the relocation of tailgate and fuel filler release buttons and the removal of speakers - if an entertainment system is not specified.
As well as the standard paint selection, the new Evora can also be personalised through the recently launched Lotus Exclusive programme. Combining traditional British craftsmanship with modern design, the service inspires customers to spend time tailoring the character of their Lotus with a comprehensive array of options.
The Lotus Evora Sport 410 will be limited to a global production run of one-hundred and fifty vehicles per year and will be available in all major markets from June 2016.
A specific North American version of the Evora Sport 410 will be announced later in 2016.

wider 195/50 R16 front tyres to give sharper, more-responsive steering.

The Elise Cup 250 carries over the motorsport-derived suspension and braking components from

coaxial coil springs and double wishbone suspension. AP Racing twin-piston front calipers, and
Brembo single-piston rear calipers work in conjunction with the track-tuned ABS system with ultralightweight
forged alloy wheels (16 inch, front and 17 inch rear) are fitted with Yokohama AO48
tyres (195/50/16 on the front and 225/45/17 on the rear)
New larger switches with improved haptics have been introduced for the Lotus Dynamic
Performance Management System (with Sport setting), headlights and rear fog lights, mounted
together with the vehicle’s new engine start button.
As standard, the Elise Cup 250 comes with a full Alcantara® interior in red or black, with an
optional Leather Pack available. An integrated in-car entertainment system can also be specified,
including iPod® connectivity and Bluetooth® functionality along with full carpets and enhanced
sound insulation.
A total of ten paint choices are available for the Cup 250: two are no-cost options, seven are
metallic and one is the Signature Grey option. The new Elise Cup 250 can also be personalised

In 2015, 375 Lotus cars were registered in the UK compared to 235 in 2014 - the best registration
figures achieved by Lotus in the UK since 2010.
Seven new Lotus dealerships were appointed in 2015 in the UK including two showrooms in
London, the first time Lotus has had a presence in London since 2009. Lotus now has 16 dealers
in the UK with more planned over the next 12 months.

The UK is not the only key market for Lotus to have seen an increase in sales, with other
European markets including Germany, France and Italy also recording substantial growth in

The Lotus 3-Eleven is the most powerful road car to wear a Lotus badge and Hethel’s quickest ever road car. It joins the ranks of those rare cars that can reach 60 mph in under three seconds and 100 mph in six seconds. To complement these figures, the Lotus 3-Eleven possesses a purity of the driving experience and the benchmark handling for which all Lotus cars are renowned, enabling a lap of the challenging Hethel circuit to be completed in 1 minute 19.5 seconds for the Race version.

With the standard lightweight carbon composite bodywork, the Lotus 3-Eleven has a dry weight of 890 kg and maximum power of 460 hp (Race version). It has an enviable power to weight ratio of 517 hp per tonne, and is capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and boasts a maximum speed of 180 mph (290 km/h). The Road version with a dry weight of 925 kg and a maximum power of 410 hp reaches 60 mph in 3.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h).

Unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2015, the 3-Eleven will soon be entering production with deliveries of cars to customers from March 2016 onwards. The 3-Eleven will be an exclusive car with a total production run limited to 311 vehicles.
Prices start at £82,500 for the Road version (including VAT and on the road costs) and £97,083 excluding VAT for the Race version (£116,500 including VAT). The 3-Eleven will be sold in all markets as a Race car and in Europe and Asia as a Road car.

The Lotus 3-Eleven Race and Road Versions in more detail
The aggressive stance and dramatically sculpted body in lightweight carbon composite, standard on both Road and Race versions, perfectly balances the competition focus of a track car with the surface refinement of a road-going supercar. In keeping with performance orientated design, an optional Carbon Tonneau Cover is available for both Road and Race versions. In either left or right hand drive configurations, removable aerodynamic cover efficiently smoothes the airflow over the cockpit and turns the car into a competition inspired single seater.
As expected for such a focussed and extreme a sports car, the Lotus 3-Eleven delivers high levels of aerodynamic downforce from the sculptured bodywork, rear wing, front splitter and flat floor and rear splitter. At 150 mph (240 km/h) the Road version produces 150 kg of downforce; the Race version with its twin front canards mounted on both sides and its adjustable rear wing produces 215 kg.
Not only does the Lotus 3-Eleven possess giant slaying straight line performance, it also generates a lateral acceleration of 1.5 g steady state whilst cornering.

A lightweight Lithium-ion motorsport battery is fitted on both the Road and Race cars saving 10 kg over a typical lightweight battery.
The new colour TFT instrument cluster can be switched between road and track modes, with numerous user customisable screen pages available to scroll through. An option for Road and Race versions is a Road to Track Logger and GPS Unit with a further opportunity to upgrade this logger with professional data analysis software.

The Race car has a high level competition spec Xtrac 6-speed sequential transmission with a semi-dry sump, oil cooler, cassette-type plate limited slip differential and paddle shift. A close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox with a Torsen-type limited slip differential, featuring a performance clutch assembly and oil cooler, is fitted on the Road version. The manual gearshift mechanism uses light weight machined and cast aluminium components which are so technically aesthetically appealing they are exposed through an open-gate design, further reducing weight.
The Lotus 3-Eleven’s suspension features lightweight, double-wishbones front and rear, with an adjustable anti-roll bar as standard on the Race version and an option on the Road car. The 3-Eleven uses Öhlins dampers, with 2-way Öhlins dampers as standard on the Race car (a cost option on the Road car). The adjustable dampers and anti-roll bar allow owners to fine tune the vehicle’s handling characteristics.
The 3-Eleven utilises a bespoke chassis based on the proven Lotus design of extruded and bonded aluminium sections. The roll-cage on both cars incorporates twin side bars for side impact protection, whilst the FIA compliant cage, optional on the Race car, only has additional bars to meet international requirements for motorsport. A competition specification fire extinguisher, battery isolator and motorsport towing eye are fitted as standard to the Race car and are offered as an option on the Road version.
Ultra lightweight forged Aluminium wheels are fitted together with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres on the Road version, with the track focused Michelin Cup 2 tyres optional on the Road car but standard on the Race car. At the front 225/40 ZR18 tyres are fitted, and to help transfer the 3-Eleven’s considerable power and torque to the road, the rear tyres have been specified as 275/35 ZR19.
In order to deliver the stopping power required for such a quick car, AP Racing four-piston calipers are complemented by two-piece grooved and vented brake discs (332 mm front and rear). Upgraded brake pads are fitted to the Race version.

The Road car has a Lotus HANS compatible composite driver’s sport seat and 4-point harness as standard with an opportunity to upgrade to the lightweight FIA Carbon driver seat as fitted to the Race car. A removable steering wheel fitted to the Race version is an option on the Road car.
Passenger seats with a 4-point harness can be fitted to both cars with two versions available: either the Sport seat which weighs 7 kg, or the lightweight carbon seat which weighs just 5.3 kg.
The exterior of the 3-Eleven will have the standard base paint with Metallic paint and a Black Pack as options where key elements of the bodywork finished in matt black.
There are four bespoke colour schemes for the 3-Eleven; Metallic Green with Metallic Yellow stripes, Metallic Black with Metallic Gold stripes, Metallic Red with Metallic Gold stripes and Matt Black with Metallic Black stripes.

Developed by the Lotus Design team, the Lotus Exclusive scheme has been conceived to inspire
customers to further personalise the character of their Lotus cars. With the ability to tailor vehicles
to their personal taste, it provides an alluring alternative to an off-the-peg sports car.

As the starting point for personalisation, the colour of any Lotus is an important decision. Lotus
Exclusive offers a range of heritage and race themed body colours to provide a modern finish to
all its cars. These colours include Essex Blue, used first on the Essex Commemorative Lotus
Esprit Turbo of 1980 and corresponding Lotus F1 cars in 1980 and 1981 and Motorsport Black,
which debuted on the limited edition Lotus Sport Exige 240R, a car which introduced
supercharging to Lotus road cars in 2005.
In addition to the headline colours, Lotus Exclusive provides customers with a colour matching
service to personalise a body colour in matt, gloss, metallic or pearlescent, providing a vast
palette of possible body colours.
Lotus Exclusive - Body decals
Highlighting key components, such as door mirrors, sills, wings or spoilers, body work decals can
be chosen in white, yellow, red or black colours. Race Stripes, again in the four key gloss colours

The roof panel and mirror caps can be given larger graphics with national flags, including the

As the ultimate incarnation of the world famous Exige, Lotus has revealed the Sport 350, the
latest version of the class-leading and award winning sports car, that’s lighter and faster than ever
before.
The new Exige Sport 350 is the next model in the range to mark the reintroduction of the
renowned ‘Sport’ naming designation. It joins the recently announced Lotus Elise Sport and Elise
Sport 220 – delivering a lighter and even more performance-focused driving experience.
Concentrating on what Lotus does best, and with a focus on pure performance, the two-seater
has been developed to deliver an unrivalled experience for the driver, being sharper and more
direct than previous models. Drawing on the core elements that have made the Exige a firm
favourite with driving enthusiasts, the Exige Sport 350 combines Lotus’ lightweight extruded
aluminium chassis structure with muscular and aerodynamically efficient composite bodywork.
A product of Lotus’ ‘Lightweight Laboratory’, the Exige Sport 350 weighs just 1125 kg and has
shed 51 kg compared to the previous model Exige S. This reduction in mass is the result of a
thorough re-evaluation designed to deliver a pure driving experience.
Lotus engineers weighed every component in the previous Lotus Exige S in order to save weight,
the result of which includes, amongst many other changes, the introduction of a louvered tailgate
panel, a lighter battery, lightweight engine mounts, a lightweight centre console featuring an
exposed gearshift mechanism, lighter HVAC pipework and the optimised use of sound insulation.

and on track. With the Exige Sport 350 we took an already phenomenally quick car and made it
even faster, more dynamic and more pure, perfectly demonstrating our Lotus design philosophy of

The 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine generates 345 hp and 295lbft of torque at 4500rpm, offering
scintillating, progressive power to the road, while revised suspension tuning and wheel geometry
contribute to un-matched vehicle dynamics and steering precision. Coupled with the car’s lower
mass, this power and torque enables the Lotus Exige Sport 350 to accelerate to 60 mph in just
3.7 seconds (0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds) before reaching a top speed of 170 mph (274 km/h).
The manual gearbox has been heavily revised, giving more precise and quicker shifting. The
gearshift mechanism uses light weight machined and cast aluminium components which are so
technically aesthetically appealing they are no longer hidden within the transmission tunnel but
exposed through an open-gate design, further reducing weight.

The Lotus Exige Sport 350 is also available with a 6-speed automatic option where drivers can
change gears manually via forged aluminium paddles located behind the steering wheel, or rely
on the gearbox’s fully automatic mode. The automatic gearbox control panel is integrated neatly
into the centre console of the cockpit, with buttons for Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive. Up-shifts
take just 240 milliseconds, with rapid downshifts accompanied by automatic throttle-blip (when in
Sport mode).
When fitted with the optional automatic gearbox, the new Exige Sport 350 is slightly quicker for 0-
62 mph (0-100km/h), clocking a time of 3.8 seconds against 3.9 seconds for the manual gearbox,
due to electronically optimised gearshifts.
Replacing the previous car’s glass tailgate, the newly designed lightweight, strong and stiff, rear
louvered tailgate not only helps lower the Exige’s centre of gravity, but also aids engine bay
cooling – a feature first introduced on the Lotus Esprit Turbo in 1980.
The Exige Sport 350’s aerodynamic styling produces 42 kg of down force at 100 mph (160 km/h)
with the rear wing and flat underside both contributing to its phenomenal aerodynamic
performance and finely balanced handling.
The Exige Sport 350’s suspension, with firmer dampers and revised geometry, delivers more
responsive handling and, combined with a lowered centre of gravity and four piston brake
calipers, help it lap Lotus’ test track 2.5 seconds faster than the previous Exige S model, in a time
of 1 minute 29.8 seconds. This makes it the first production Lotus ever to go sub 1 minute 30
seconds around the famed Hethel track.
Lotus Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) provides three discrete modes – ‘Drive’, ‘Sport’
and ‘Race’ – with the latter offering increased levels of traction slip threshold, allowing wider drift
angles before intervening. The system also opens the engine exhaust bypass valve at mid-to-high
engine speeds. Both ‘Sport’ and ‘Race’ settings increase throttle responsiveness.
New larger switches with improved haptics have been introduced for the DPM system (Sport and
Race) with the headlights and rear fog lights mounted together with the vehicle’s new engine start
button.
New trim packs introduce a heritage theme to the cabin with lightweight sports seats and door
panels clad in red or yellow Tartan (leather or Alcantara interior trim options are also available).
The Tartan theme was first introduced in 1976 in the Lotus Esprit S1 and was a bold statement
originally in keeping with the fashion of the time and now fitting for the new Exige Sport 350.

Optional extras for the Exige Sport 350 include lightweight forged alloy wheels (reducing kerb
weight by a further 5 kg), cross drilled and vented two-piece brake discs (shaving yet another 5 kg
off the weight), black or yellow painted four-piston callipers, air conditioning, an in-car
entertainment system and full carpet and sound insulation pack. Interior packs cover Alcantara,
leather and Tartan options, for both seat and door trims. By selecting the lightweight options
available the total weight of the Exige Sport 350 becomes a featherweight 1115 kg.
As standard, the front splitter, rear wing, front access panel, roof panel, wing mirrors and rear
transom are finished in matt black to complement the car’s aggressive stance; with the option for
these components to be painted in body colour at no additional cost.
Jean-Marc Gales continued, “Light weight is the most important aspect of our heritage and future
Lotus cars will follow the direction of our most recently launched models, the Evora 400, Elise
Sport and of course our latest Exige Sport 350, all of which are both lighter and faster than their
predecessors. Over the last 15 years, successive versions of the Lotus Exige have beaten more
expensive sports car rivals in media comparison tests and I expect the Exige Sport 350 to
continue this. The best has just got better!”
The Lotus Exige Sport 350 goes on sale in Europe in February 2016 and will be available outside

test and development of all Lotus Cars since 1966. Viewers now have the opportunity to
experience this world famous circuit at full race-pace in virtual reality – through their computer,
tablet or mobile device – and get a taste of what’s on offer before experiencing it for real.
The release of immersive 360 degree video content marks a first for Lotus who are keen to
illustrate to a new audience the adrenaline-fuelled excitement and sheer skill involved with driving

The Lotus Elise Sport and Elise Sport 220 mark a return the iconic ‘Sport’ naming designation,
used previously on the famed Lotus Esprit and with it the Lotus Elise package becomes lighter,
and even more performance-focused.
20 years ago, the Lotus Elise revolutionised the sports car world, setting the benchmark for
handling, purity of the driving experience, lightweight and efficiency. Its pioneering and advanced
bonded aluminium chassis was a market-leading technological innovation at the time and over
the years has improved and evolved and remains core to the Elise’s exceptional performance
today.

Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus plc, commented, “We have further refined, distilled and
sharpened the driving experience offered by our best selling sports car of the last 20 years, the
Lotus Elise. These two new models, the Elise Sport and Sport 220 revive the iconic ‘Sport’

Both the new Elise Sport and Elise Sport 220 benefit from a significant weight reduction of 10 kg,
a result of the continued central design philosophy of Lotus – ‘lighter, faster’ and the perpetual
quest to reduce weight of all constituent parts and in some cases remove unnecessary parts
altogether.
Weighing just 866 kg, the Elise Sport sets a benchmark in class - a sports car that both
enthusiasts and newcomers to the brand will find it easy to fall in love with. Lightweight, efficient
and completely pure in its driving experience, its handling and quickness in road holding remain
the envy of all its rivals.
The Elise Sport 220 represents the perfect blend of power and dynamism in a more focused
performance package. Weighing just 914 kg, with peak power of 217 hp and torque of 250 Nm, 0-
60 mph is achieved in just 4.2 seconds, and a top speed of 145 mph is possible. However, it is
once again in the area of vehicle dynamics that the Elise Sport 220 excels, offering an even purer
driving experience when compared to the previous Elise S model, due largely to the further
weight-saving, aided in part by a new lightweight sports battery.
Lightweight sports seats in leather, Alcantara or classic tartan trim as an option are a further sign
of sports intentions. First introduced in 1976 in the Lotus Esprit S1, tartan interior references a
time when making a statement was everything, a concept still central to Lotus’ design philosophy.

Sport mode is standard fitment in the Elise Sport and Sport 220, and sharpens the experience
further by increasing throttle response, altering traction slip thresholds and removing understeer
recognition, allowing enhanced control before intervention and offering an even closer connection
between driver and machine. Bilstein sports dampers further contribute to scalpel sharp steering
feeling and provide heightened feedback from the road.
With reduced weight comes increased efficiency and a reduction in fuel consumption, a power to
weight ratio of 155 bhp/tonne for the Elise Sport and 237 bhp/tonne for the Sport 220 the result.
Fuel consumption is an impressive 56.5 mpg (extra urban) the Elise Sport and 47.9 mpg (extra
urban) for the Sport 220, further cementing the Elise’s tag as one of the most efficient sports cars
in sector.

A range of classic Elise colours are available – Solid Red, Solid Yellow, Metallic Green, Metallic
Blue, Metallic Silver, Metallic White, Metallic Grey, Metallic Orange, Metallic Black and Signature
Grey, with rear diffuser in matt black. Lightweight silver or black cast wheels (16” front, 17” rear)
are standard fitment and there is an optional upgrade to a forged wheel design that saves a
further 5 kg from total unladen weight.
The Elise is Lotus’ most successful model in terms of numbers built, with a total of 32,000
manufactured and sold globally. In addition to the Elise, the Lotus small platform technology has
been used to great success in the Lotus Exige, Lotus Europa and Lotus 2-Eleven models, all of
which are, or have been manufactured by Lotus at its Headquarters in Hethel, Norfolk.

The most powerful production Lotus ever – the new Lotus Evora 400 is a superior machine to the
previous model in every aspect.
Over two thirds of the Lotus Evora 400 is new, including its supercharged and charge-cooled midmounted
3.5-litre V6 engine. Power has been increased from 345 hp (350 PS; 257.3 kW) to 400
hp (406 PS; 298.3 kW) at 7,000rpm. Torque has also been increased to 302 lbs ft (410 Nm)
achieved between 3,500 to 6,500 rpm.
42 kg lighter than the previous model, with a completely new aluminium chassis and significantly
revised lightweight composite body front and rear – The new Evora 400 is also ergonomically
more refined, with easier cabin exit and entry, enhancing everyday usability.
Dynamically more capable lighter and faster, with revised spring and damper settings, a Limited
Slip Differential (LSD) and a downforce figure of 32 kg (70 lbs) at 150 mph (242 km/h), the new
Evora 400 is one of the quickest cars in class A to B and offers a more involving, sharper and
more focused driving experience compared with the outgoing model.

Lotus is pleased to announce a new collaborative partnership with CGI Finance to provide
financial services to Lotus dealers and retail finance to Lotus customers in France.
The partnership between Lotus Cars and CGI Finance, part of the Société Générale Group, will
enhance the wholesale financial offering for dealers in what is considered a hugely important
and influential market. It also marks an improved offering of financing and leasing products to customers in France, where there is strong demand for new models such as the new and highly
anticipated Evora 400, which recently made its French debut at the Salon Automobile de Lyon to
much acclaim.
