For the 6^th year, London hosted the most vibrant and important event for Malaysian culture in the UK. On Friday the 18^th September from noon to 10pm, Trafalgar Square became an open air market to celebrate Malaysian culture and its vibrant mix of music, food and entertainment.
As part of the DRB-HICOM Group, one of Malaysia’s leading conglomerates, Lotus renewed its participation in the event for the second year running, after a previous successful attendance in 2014.

Funded by the Malaysian External Trade Department (MATRADE), the event saw 53,000 people converge on Trafalgar Square in the centre of London. The Malaysian Minister for Trade and Industry, Honourable Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed, and The High Commissioner of Malaysia to the UK, His Excellency Dato’ Ahmad Rasidi Hazizi, were also present to welcome the thousands of visitors and took time to visit the Lotus display featuring the new Lotus Evora 400.
The new model from Lotus further enhanced the event as part of an impressive display on the North Terrace, in front of the National Gallery, overlooking Trafalgar Square. Visitors were invited to sit in the hand built car, experience the distinctive ambience and admire the handmade details within the cabin. Supported by the London-based Lotus dealer, Hexagon, interested parties also had the opportunity to enquire about booking a test drive and gain further information about how they might own a Lotus sports car, an iconic product of Norfolk, England.

The new Lotus 3-Eleven marked its first public outing with a successful two-week test session during the industry pool test weeks at the renowned proving ground of the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, in which over 2,000kms were covered as part of a comprehensive test and development programme.

Heralding a new generation of Lotus high performance sports cars, the 3-Eleven features an all-new lightweight body, with an open cockpit design and a V6 supercharged engine developing 450 hp. The 3-Eleven re-affirms Lotus core values, offering the ultimate pure driving experience and providing the perfect demonstration of "faster and lighter" which comes from Lotus’ roots in competitive motorsport and underlines the company’s ability to deliver benchmark handling.
In what was its first turn of a wheel outside of Lotus’ Hethel HQ, the new 3-Eleven was piloted by three different drivers with individual areas of expertise and vehicle set-up with specific focus – aerodynamics, engine calibration, chassis tuning and suspension geometry.
Gavan Kershaw, Technical Manager for Lotus Motorsport and Lotus 3-Eleven Development Driver, commented, “It has been a hugely successful test for us in which we have thoroughly investigated areas of the car which are a specific focus for high performance driving. We have methodically worked through a test matrix concentrating on, aerodynamic balance, suspension settings, tyre and brake development, optimising engine calibration and throttle mapping to reach the required benchmark for performance.”
With clear running on the circuit an inhibiting factor over the course of the two week period – in which the track was not designated solely for the use of Lotus – the 3-Eleven lapped regularly on or below the target simulation time. By combining the quickest sector times achieved during the fastest 2 laps on the “Sport Auto” magazine lap configuration, a total lap time of 7 minutes 06 seconds was recorded by the vehicle’s data logging acquisition system.
Marc Basseng, Lotus 3-Eleven Driver, stated, “I know the Nürburgring Nordschleife very well and have driven many cars around the circuit. I can say that the 3-Eleven is the perfect car for a fast lap here. It is so sharp and so focussed; a true weapon! This was proven in the sector times set and I’m sure, with the track completely to itself, the car could push towards a 7min flat lap time.”
The new Lotus 3-Eleven will enter production in February 2016 with deliveries scheduled to commence in April 2016. Production will be limited to just 311 vehicles in total.
Prices start at £82,000 for the Road version (including VAT and on the road costs) and £96,000 excluding VAT for the Race version (£115,200 including VAT). The 3-Eleven will be sold in all markets as a race car and in Europe and Asia as a road car.

The first Evora 400 sports cars destined for customers and dealers have driven off the assembly line and are soon to arrive at dealerships across the UK and mainland Europe. The significant occasion was marked by a small celebration with proud members of the engineering and manufacturing team at Lotus, who are responsible for hand-building Lotus’ fastest production car to date.
Jean-Marc Gales, CEO, Group Lotus plc states, “The Evora 400 has already received admiration and critical acclaim from media around the world, praising its performance, handling and design. In September and October, Lotus dealers throughout the UK and mainland Europe will be receiving their demonstrator and customers cars, so now is the opportunity for drivers to get behind the wheel and experience the Evora 400 for themselves.”
Over two thirds of the Lotus Evora 400 is new, including its supercharged and charge-cooled mid-mounted 3.5-litre V6 engine which produces 400 hp and 410 Nm of torque. Such revisions result in a faster and dynamically more capable model than the previous Evora and are the reason the new Evora 400 has become the most eagerly anticipated Lotus model for several years.
Weighing just 1395 kg, (42 kg lighter than the previous Lotus Evora S) the new Evora 400 combines high performance with the legendary Lotus benchmark handling. This performance, and handling, combined with a maximum speed of 186 mph (300 km/h) and acceleration 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds), enables the new Lotus Evora 400 to lap the Lotus test track at Hethel seven seconds faster than the previous Evora S in a time of 1 minute 31 seconds.
The Lotus Evora 400 benefits from a high level of standard specification including 370 mm composite two piece brake discs from AP Racing, a Limited Slip Differential, automatic air-conditioning and infotainment system including satellite navigation. In addition to this, the options list includes automatic transmission, cruise control, Alcantara or Leather trim upgrades and metallic paint.
A “Black Pack” option provides a distinctive look, with selected exterior panels including the roof, sills and centre section of the three-element rear wing in gloss black and a dark headlining in the interior. Lightweight forged alloy wheels can be specified along with optional yellow or black brake callipers.
Over the last 15 months, Lotus has increased its number of dealers worldwide from 138 to 193.
North American markets and China will receive the Evora 400 as a 2017 model year in early 2016.

Lotus Motorsport redefines the Exige V6 Cup with the introduction of the Exige 360 Cup. New lightweight panels and an increase in power mean the Lotus Motorsport Cup model continues to provide a benchmark in handling and performance.
The Exige 360 Cup bespoke styling signals an evolution in design, with an option of four colours (Metallic White, Metallic Grey, Metallic Black and Metallic Silver) and stealth matt black roof, front access panel and louvered tailgate. This design is a limited edition run of 50 vehicles and each of these special Exige 360 Cup cars will receive a numbered Lotus Motorsport build plate.
This new model boasts an increase in power of 10 PS with freer flowing induction and a sports exhaust system, which combined with a low vehicle weight of 1130 kg gives an incredibly pure driving experience on road and track. The powertrain updates also give the Exige 360 Cup a sportier soundtrack to enhance the driving experience.

The Exige 360 Cup uses the track proven aero package from the Exige V6 Cup with an aerodynamically optimised front splitter, rear diffuser and wing. Together with the flat underside these aerodynamic aids offer 42 kg of downforce at 100 mph (160 km/h).
The chassis on the Exige 360 Cup is a Lotus designed stiff and lightweight bonded aluminium chassis with double wishbone suspension all round. The car is fitted with track focused 2-way adjustable suspension and a 4-dynamic mode (drive, sport, race and off) system, including launch control.
New features for the Exige 360 Cup include a bespoke lightweight front access panel, new lightweight rear tailgate and louvered panel. The Exige 360 Cup has a distinctive design, updated grooved brake discs for improved performance, Motorsport Red wheels, embroidered seats and dash panel.
The options available for the Exige 360 Cup include a new red Alcantara interior, adjustable anti-roll bars, Öhlins race dampers, fire extinguisher and electrical cut-off, FIA carbon seats, air conditioning and removable steering wheel.
The Exige 360 Cup is on sale now through the Lotus dealer network with prices starting at £62,995 (MSRP) including 20% tax.

In a small celebration with a selection of senior management, manufacturing and engineering staff, the first new Lotus Evora 400 has driven off the assembly line at Hethel.

Jean-Marc Gales, Chief Executive Officer of Group Lotus plc, says, “Today is a very significant stage in our long term plan, which we set-out more than a year ago. With the first Evora 400 coming off the line, we have achieved a key milestone for Lotus.”

Jean-Marc Gales continues, “None of this would be possible, of course, without the confidence and commitment of our workforce who, with great skill and talent, hand build every Lotus car at Hethel.”

The new Lotus Evora 400 laps the Lotus test track at Hethel six seconds faster than the previous Evora S in a time of 1 minute 32 seconds. Combining high performance with the legendary Lotus benchmark handling, it is faster and dynamically more capable than the previous Lotus Evora leading to greater agility and a more involving drive.

Maximum speed is 186 mph (300 km/h) and acceleration 0-60 mph is just 4.1 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds). Over two thirds of the Lotus Evora 400 is new, including its supercharged and charge-cooled mid-mounted 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 400 horsepower and 410 Nm of torque. A new aluminium chassis incorporates a new interior and the lightweight composite body has changed significantly both front and rear.

The new Evora 400, which was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March, will enter production for European markets in the summer and deliveries will commence in August this year. China and North American markets will receive the Evora 400 as a 2017 model year in early 2016.

Heralding a new generation of Lotus high performance sports cars, today saw the unveiling of the

company’s quickest and most expensive series production car ever, the 3-Eleven, at the 2015

Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Designed as an uncompromised manifestation of the Lotus spirit, the new car is focused on

providing an undiluted driving experience, and underlines the company’s ability to deliver

legendary handling and blistering speed.

Working on the concept of less is more, and keeping close to Lotus’ track roots, the dramatic new

vehicle features an all-new lightweight body, with an open cockpit design and a revised V6

supercharged engine developing 450 hp.

Two variations of the Lotus 3-Eleven will be available: Road and Race; both delivering an

impressive combination of high performance, agility and precision. Based on the Road version,

the Race includes a more aggressive aero kit, a sequential gearbox and an FIA approved driver’s

seat with a six-point harness.

With a dry weight of below 900 kg (Race version), the 3-Eleven offers an enviable power to

weight ratio, in excess of 500 hp per tonne, and is capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in less than

3.0 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 174 mph (280 km/h) for the Race version and

180 mph (290 km/h) for the Road version

Speaking at Goodwood, Jean-Marc Gales, Chief Executive Officer for Group Lotus plc, stated,

"We always say that to make a sports car better, you make it faster and lighter. The new Lotus 3-

Eleven carries that philosophy to a new level, and is perfectly in keeping with our brand values.”

Jean-Marc Gales continued, “This new car is a giant slayer, capable of embarrassing far more

expensive rivals. It condenses our engineering know-how into one, hard-core package, and is so

focused that it won’t suit everyone. This is a perfect demonstration of the faster and lighter

concept, something which will be crucial to all Lotus cars in the future.”

The new Lotus 3-Eleven will enter production in February 2016 and deliveries will commence in

April 2016. Production will be limited to just 311 vehicles in total.

The Lotus 3-Eleven in more detail:

Performance

• Quickest Lotus production car ever, lapping the Hethel track in 1 min 22 secs

• Aerodynamic downforce of up to 215 kg at 150 mph (240 km/h) - Race version

The 3-Eleven utilises a bespoke chassis based on the proven Lotus design of extruded and

bonded aluminium sections. The Road roll-cage incorporates twin side bars for side impact

protection, whilst the Race cage has additional bars to meet international requirements for

motorsport.

The Lotus 3-Eleven’s suspension features lightweight, double-wishbones front and rear,

adjustable front anti-roll bar and Eibach springs with Öhlins adjustable dampers. This allows

owners to fine tune the vehicle’s handling characteristics.

Powertrain

• Supercharged and charge-cooled 3.5-litre V6 engine

• Limited Slip Differential as standard

• Lotus traction control system

The new Lotus 3-Eleven is powered by a revised version of the 3.5-litre V6 engine first shown in

the Evora 400, which includes a supercharger with integrated water-to-air charge cooler.

Maximum power output has increased to 450hp (456 PS / 336 kW) at 7000 rpm and torque has

increased to 450 Nm / 332 lbs ft with maximum torque available from 3500 rpm through to 6500

rpm.

A close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox with a Torsen-type limited slip differential, featuring a

performance clutch assembly and oil cooler, come as standard on the Road version. The Race

model has a 6-speed sequential transmission with a semi-dry sump, oil cooler, limited slip

differential and paddle shift.

Brakes and Tyres

• Lightweight forged Aluminium wheels as standard

• AP Racing four-pot calipers

• Bosch ABS tuned by Lotus

Designed to cope with the 3-Eleven’s potential, lightweight forged Aluminium wheels are fitted as

standard on the 3-Eleven, with either Michelin Pilot Super Sport or Michelin Cup 2 tyres

depending on if it’s in Road or Race configuration.

At the front 225/40 ZR18 tyres are standard, and to help transfer the 3-Eleven’s considerable

power and torque to the road, the rear tyres has been specified as 275/35 ZR19.

In order to deliver the stopping power required for such a quick car, AP Racing four-piston

calipers are complemented by two-part grooved and vented brake discs (332 mm front and rear).

Upgraded brake pads are fitted to the Race version.

Exterior Design

• Lightweight body panels, using new resin infusion composite technology

Manufactured from very light weight composite materials, optimizing vehicle weight, aerodynamic

and structural requirements, the 3-Eleven’s composite body is 40% lighter than the GRP

equivalent.

This new process is a first for a production car, and an example of Lotus’ focus on utilising

pioneering new technology and lightweight materials in its vehicles. The choice of material

technology has allowed extreme vehicle performance targets to be met, and help realise the 3-

Eleven’s dynamic styling.

Undeniably a track car, the 3-Eleven’s aggressive stance leaves no doubt of its intentions. The

dramatically sculpted body perfectly balances the technical efficiency of a track car with the

surface refinement of a road-going supercar. Form follows function, with a minimised cross

sectional area that keeps drag to a minimum while optimising cooling.

As an extreme design evolution of Lotus predecessors, the Lotus 3-Eleven’s new front clam shell

incorporates larger openings to deliver the necessary cooling for the powertrain and transmission.

This helps give the vehicle a much more aggressive stance.

Two front splitter configurations are available, depending on whether the vehicle is configured for

road or race use, and the front arches are wide enough to cover the car’s wide track and the new

225/40 ZR18 tyres.

Dramatic side scallops provide a clean exit from the front wheels arches, and the car’s profile is

dominated by an aerodynamically significant roll bar cover. The car is without a windscreen and

doors, with the roll bar fully enclosing the rear cage. As well as generating downforce, the roll bar

forms a vital part of the car’s homologation to international motorsport safety standards.

The rear clamshell emphasises the aggressive stance of the car, with different fixed spoilers

available, depending on whether the vehicle is specified for road or race use.

The new rear diffuser and under-tray, which has been developed to ensure minimum drag,

complements an exhaust system designed specifically to minimize back pressure and enhance

engine performance.

Interior Design

• Focussed race interior

• New race spec colour TFT instrument cluster can be switched between road and track

modes

Fitted with the standard aeroscreen and the optional passenger seat, a passenger can be easily

accommodated in the two seater. However, these can be removed and the optional tonneau

panel fitted - to envelope the driver and improve overall aerodynamics.

The new instrument cluster has been designed around a colour TFT screen, and can be switched

between road and track modes, providing relevant information direct to the driver.

A quick release steering wheel and Lotus sports seats with four-point harnesses are fitted as

standard, while the Race variant has the option of a data logger system, FIA approved driver’s

race seat, and six-point harness - as well as a fire extinguisher & battery kill switch.

Manufacturing

• Hand built in Hethel, England

The Lotus 3-Eleven will be hand made by the highly skilled craftsmen and women at the Lotus

Headquarters in Hethel, alongside the rest of the Lotus sports car range, supported by Lotus

Motorsport technicians. All 3-Elevens will then be finished in Lotus Motorsport’s dedicated

workshops prior to delivery.

The introduction of the Lotus Evora 400, as a 2017 North American Model Year, marks the start

of a fresh period in Lotus’ presence in this vital market. The previous model Evora already

received positive acclaim from media, customers and dealers alike and reaffirmed Lotus as the

maker of some of the finest, purest, most lightweight and most efficient sports cars sold today.

The Lotus Evora 400, unveiled at the Geneva Show in March 2015, has already generated

excitement worldwide. With 400 hp, an acceleration to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and a maximum

speed of 186mph, the Lotus Evora 400 is six seconds quicker around the company’s Hethel test

track than the previous Evora S.

· UK registrations for Lotus cars increase by 109% year to date

MotorExpo, held at Canary Wharf in London’s Docklands commercial zone, holds the honour of the UK debut of the Lotus Evora 400, ahead of deliveries to customers commencing in August 2015.

The arrival of the Evora 400 will boost the upwards trend in the UK sales demand for Lotus, led currently by both Elise and Exige models, notably as registrations of new Lotus cars in the UK have increased by 109% in the first five months of 2015. This increase is more than for any other sports car marque on sale in the UK.

The new Lotus, which boasts supercar performance, is joined by the Exige S Club Racer, with a Lotus Exige S Roadster available for test drives on the roads around Canary Wharf.

Jean-Marc Gales, Chief Executive Officer, Group Lotus plc, commented: “London’s MotorExpo is the perfect showcase for the new Lotus Evora 400. Taking place in the heartland of the city’s finance and commercial centre allows us to follow-up the excitement of the world reveal at Geneva, with a long-awaited UK debut. With a strong history of positive, high-end sales potential, MotorExpo is a hugely effective opportunity to present today’s Lotus to potential buyers.

From figures provided by the SMMT, a total of 153 Lotus cars were registered in the UK for the first five months of 2015, an increase of 80 registered units over the equivalent period in 2014 and a measure of the company‘s performance arising from its development plan.

The Lotus Evora 400 in more detail

The Lotus Evora 400 combines high performance with the legendary Lotus benchmark handling and is lighter, more efficient and dynamically better than ever, providing a purer driving experience, greater agility and a more involving drive. In recent tests, a standard road specification prototype Evora 400, running on road tyres and with standard road suspension lapped the Lotus test track at Hethel six seconds faster than the previous Evora S in a time of 1 minute 32 seconds.

UK prices will start from £72,000. For this price the car benefits from a high level of standard specification including 370 mm composite two piece brake discs from AP Racing, a Limited Slip Differential, automatic air-conditioning and infotainment system including satellite navigation. In addition to this, the options list includes automatic transmission at £2,000, Alcantara, or Leather, trim upgrades at £2,500 and metallic paint at £900.

A ‘Black Pack’ option, available at £1,250, provides a distinctive look, with selected exterior panels including the roof, sills and centre section of the three-element rear wing in gloss black and a dark headlining in the interior. Lightweight forged alloy wheels can be fitted for £2,000 and cruise control and yellow, or black, brake callipers are priced at £300 each.

Maximum speed is 186 mph (300 km/h) and acceleration 0-60 mph is just 4.1 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds). Over two thirds of the Lotus Evora 400 is new, including its supercharged and charge-cooled, mid-mounted 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 400 horsepower and 410 Nm of torque. A new aluminium chassis incorporates a new interior and the lightweight composite body has changed significantly both front and rear.

Official fuel consumption figures and CO₂ emissions figures for the Lotus Evora 400 are not available at the time of going to press. They will be provided on the Lotus website www.lotuscars.com as soon as they are available.

Lotus Exige S Club Racer in more detail

Applying the Lotus refined Club Racer principles to the already stunning Exige S results in the most inspiring version of an already class-leading sports car.

The Exige S is a model that already excels, thanks to its lightweight aluminium chassis-tub and aerodynamically enhanced composite bodywork. Its 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine delivers exciting performance, benchmark handling and a pure driving experience combined with a 4.0 seconds 0-62mph (0-100km/h) acceleration time and a top speed of 274 km/h (170 mph).

Available only as a coupe model, the car possesses 42 kg of aerodynamic downforce at 100 mph (160 km/h), thanks to the front splitter, rear wing and flat underside, all contributing to its phenomenal performance and handling balance.

At 1161 kg, it is lighter by 15 kg compared to the Exige S, because of its new lightweight battery, lightweight centre console in body colour, lighter doors and lightweight sports seats in leather or Alcantara with colour coded stitching. Traction slip thresholds (‘Drive‘, ‘Sport’ and ‘Race’ settings) allowing the driver enhanced vehicle control before intervention is required can be altered via a driver-selectable switch which is now fitted as standard. Both ‘Sport’ and ‘Race’ settings increase throttle responsiveness.

The Exige S Club Racer is available in Metallic White, Exige Orange, Metallic Yellow and Matt Black (option). The front splitter, rear wing, front access panel, roof panel, wing mirrors and rear transom are in matt black. Club Racer decals inside on the dashboard and seats and outside above the side indicator identify this latest special addition to the Exige range.

All this additional equipment amounts to £4,500 worth of extra value, for only £2,400 more than the standard Exige S (£54,500).

The Lotus Exige S Club Racer is on sale now with an MSRP of £56,900.

The newly refitted Lotus Brand Centre in Piccadilly, London, introduces an opportunity to learn

more about Lotus and get closer to the company’s pure and lightweight sports cars in central

Two of the company’s best-selling models are currently central to the showroom presence. The

Elise 220 Cup and the Exige S take centre-stage. The new Lotus Evora 400, the fastest

production Lotus ever, will be displayed later in the summer.

The main area of the new Lotus store is dedicated to a fully interactive Lotus sports car

configurator where customers can chose the specifications of their new Lotus, take a look at

examples of the latest range of Lotus cars, the iconic Elise and stunning Exige. Customers are

Having stated that the new Evora 400 supercar would exceed expectations, Lotus has now validated the claim. Early tests, carried out by Gavan Kershaw, Technical Manager for Lotus Motorsport, allowed Lotus to boast of a six seconds per lap advantage at Hethel. This validation drive of a standard road specification prototype Evora 400, running on road tyres and with standard road suspension supports the initial claim.

Since the unveiling of the pioneering and ground-breaking Lotus Elise in 1995, Lotus has reached another production landmark. No less than 40,000 examples have been produced of its technologically advanced “small car platform”, epitomised by the brilliant Lotus Elise, which has maintained exceptional standards in light weight and efficiency, while producing a benchmark in handling, to result in a pure driving experience.

The “small car platform” and its sheer production flexibility is defined by the various models based on it, which have included the Lotus Elise, Exige, Europa, 2-Eleven, 340R and racing variants.

In being the first carmaker to use extruded and bonded aluminium, Lotus revolutionised the industry and it has become a method that is being widely adopted amongst the rest of the motor industry. In the meantime, Lotus continues to refine and develop its own lightweight structure currently weighing just 68 kg.

The landmark has not been achieved without considerable effort, as outlined by Jean-Marc Gales, CEO, Group Lotus plc, “The small car platform was a landmark development in 1995 and developed at the right time in the company’s history. Yet, in an environment of continuous improvement, while a correlation exists between today’s platform and the first of the lightweight, bonded and extruded aluminium structures, it has altered radically. KUALA LUMPUR – PROTON Holdings Berhad (“PROTON”) the ultimate holding company of Lotus Group, announced that it has signed a Joint Venture (“JV”) Agreement with Lotus Group International Limited, United Kingdom (“Lotus Group”) and Goldstar Heavy Industrial Co. Ltd. (“Goldstar”) for a possible business expansion of Lotus cars in the People's Republic of China.

The collaboration seeks to accelerate the development of Lotus cars in the premium sports segment in China, leveraging on the incentives offered by the Fujian Provincial Government. Both PROTON and Lotus Group are subsidiaries of DRB-HICOM Berhad.

Signing on behalf of PROTON was the Honourable Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Chairman of PROTON and former Prime Minister of Malaysia and witnessed by Dato’ Abdul Harith Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON. It is very difficult to ignore the market and Lotus will fill the gap in providing a lifestyle alternative to the growing demands of the affluent and market conscious local community,” Dato' Harith added.

"On April 7, 2015, Lotus announced 55% increase in car sales for its 2014/15 financial year, compared to the previous year with 36 new dealers appointed during the period 2014/15. And China has appeared to be the top key growth market for Lotus exports and is expected to grow at a very fast rate. Today, Lotus is pleased to announce a 55% rise in its global sports car sales at the conclusion of the 2014/15 financial year.

For the full year, the company has increased its sales volume to an excellent 2015 units, contrasted with 1,296 units in the year 2013/14. This is the best result achieved by Lotus since FY 2008/09.

Key global markets showing the renaissance experienced by Lotus are in China (+186%), France (+177%) and Germany (+130%), while Japan (+103%) remains the company’s largest export market. Sales in the UK have more than doubled to 346 units (+102%). The USA market, which sells the Evora range as a road car and the Elise and Exige ranges for track use only, has increased by 24%.

Leading the excellent performance is the Elise range, with a 80% increase in volume to 729 cars. The Exige S range continues its positive growth (+52%) with 724 cars, while the Evora is up by 35% with 562 cars. However, these figures are expected to change radically with the launch of Evora 400 in August.

Helping the progress are two new models, the Elise 220 Cup and the Exige S automatic option in both coupe and roadster forms. Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus plc, stated: “This positive result is something that we have not witnessed at Lotus for many years. We are meeting both time and budget deadlines. Yet, we appreciate that we still have hard work to do to maintain the progress. Our continued expansion demonstrates the customer confidence in Lotus and that our product development strategy is meeting its objectives, while remaining true to our core pillars of efficiency, light weight, high performance and driving purity in the most desirable packaging.”

Naturally, dealer strength has grown, with 36 new dealers in the global network in FY 2014/15 taking the total to 174 dealers worldwide.

As well as the new Evora 400 and the aforementioned Elise 220 Cup and Exige S automatic, two additional new models - the Elise S 20^th Anniversary and the Exige S Club Racer - are exciting the market. Strong residual values for all Lotus cars help customers to appreciate the value of the products.

Applying the Lotus refined Club Racer principles to the already stunning Exige S results in the most inspiring version of an already class-leading sports car.

The Exige S is a model that already excels, thanks to its lightweight aluminium chassis-tub and aerodynamically enhanced composite bodywork. Its 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine delivers exciting performance, benchmark handling and a pure driving experience combined with a 4.0 seconds 0-62mph (0-100km/h) acceleration time and a top speed of 274 km/h (170 mph).

Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus plc, expressed his enthusiasm for the new model: “Factoring the Club Racer ethos into the Exige enhances the track-focussed potential of this important model. It encompasses our legendary benchmark in handling, with lightweight and efficient construction and that we will always put a peerless and pure driving experience first.”

The new Exige S Club Racer occupies an important niche within the Exige range and arrives hot on the heels of the Elise 220 Cup and the forthcoming Evora 400, unveiled recently at the Geneva Motor Show.

Available only as a coupe model, the car possesses 42 kg of aerodynamic downforce at 100 mph (160 km/h), thanks to the front splitter, rear wing and flat underside, all contributing to its phenomenal performance and handling balance.

At 1161 kg, it is lighter by 15 kg compared to the Exige S, because of its new lightweight battery, lightweight centre console in body colour, lighter doors and lightweight sports seats in leather or Alcantara with colour coded stitching. Traction slip thresholds (‘Drive‘, ‘Sport’ and ‘Race’ settings) allowing the driver enhanced vehicle control before intervention is required can be altered via a driver-selectable switch which is now fitted as standard. Both ‘Sport’ and ‘Race’ settings increase throttle responsiveness.

The Exige S Club Racer is available in Metallic White, Exige Orange, Metallic Yellow and Matt Black (option). The front splitter, rear wing, front access panel, roof panel, wing mirrors and rear transom are in matt black. Club Racer decals inside on the dashboard and seats and outside above the side indicator identify this latest special addition to the Exige range.

All this additional equipment amounts to £4,500 worth of extra value, for only £2,400 more than the standard Exige S (£54,500).

This year’s Bosch Hockenheim Historic - Jim Clark Revival meeting will be a treat for Lotus fans and owners

This year’s Bosch Hockenheim Historic - Jim Clark Revival meeting will be a treat for Lotus fans and owners, with a variety of activities including a special tribute to Team Lotus’s double World Champion, 50 years on from his most successful season in motorsport.

Jim Clark dominated the 1965 Formula One season, claiming six Grands Prix on his way to the title, including a run of five consecutive victories. He also conquered America, winning the Indianapolis 500 with Team Lotus. This stunning achievement will be marked at the Hockenheim event with a display of his cars, including his Dutch GP-winning Lotus 33, his Lotus 35 Formula 2 car, and the ‘Jim Clark’ Lotus 29 IndyGoKart from 1964, manufactured to commemorate Ford’s entry into the Indy 500 in 1963. There will also be a display of pictures, models and other exhibits celebrating the legendary driver.

The event also features the opening round of Lotus Cup Europe, the only race series for modern-day machinery on the event’s schedule. Over 40 cars have been entered, headed by reigning champion Jeremy Lourenco, who has graduated to the V6 Cup class with team mate Xavier Georges in a pair of Exiges. They will be fighting for overall victories with favourites Jon Walker, and Nikolaj Ipsen, plus the Evoras of Gregory Rasse and the returning Steve Williams.

Championship runner-up Andrew Wright has moved up to the 2-Eleven class from Production, where he’ll be battling Jean-Baptiste Loup and Christophe Lisandre, and Mark Gooday will be making his return to Lotus racing.

An expanded Open class includes the four-cylinder Exiges and is expected to feature David Harvey and Nicolas Ferrer, plus the Lotus Cup Eastern Europe visitors Benedek Major and Tamas Vizin. Meanwhile a close Production fight should include Markus Nikowitsch, John Rasse and James Knight.

Lotus enthusiasts can join in the event with a variety of activities including a special Lotus parade on the Grand Prix circuit. There will also be awards for the oldest, most extraordinary, best-looking original and restored Lotus cars, plus a special prize for the driver who has travelled the furthest in their Lotus.

There will also be a Lotus photo competition open to all where twelve Lotus model series will be photographed and the winners will receive a free calendar.
