Will Power continued his outstanding start to the 2010 IndyCar season by taking pole position in St Petersburg. Fresh from winning the season opener in Brazil a fortnight ago, Power was quickest in every practice session at the Florida street track and then earned a comfortable pole. Penske driver Power breezed through to the decisive Fast Six session and set a 1m01.7s lap on his first run of the pole shootout. None of his rivals could beat it - and Power then cemented his advantage by improving even further, to 1m01.6026s, as the chequered flag fell. Sao Paulo race winner Will Power picked up where he left off by topping the opening practice session for round two of the IndyCar Series in St Petersburg. The Penske driver finally hit the front in the closing minutes with a 1m03.6741s, after a frenetic session that saw all three Penske entries, both Ganassi drivers, Andretti Autosport's Tony Kanaan and Dreyer & Reinbold's Justin Wilson all take turns at the head of the order. Lotus and Cosworth have entered into a new technical and commercial partnership with established IndyCar competitors KV Racing Technology to run in the 2010 IndyCar Series. The Lotus-Cosworth IndyCar will use the classic Racing Green and Yellow livery used on Lotus Racing cars in the 1950s and 1960s and this new livery will debut at the first USA round of the IndyCar Series.
