I currenlty have a Gunmetal S2 120 Elise and am thinking of tinkering a little. I want to put O.Z.s on, a decent exhaust (sewing machine standard at the mo), induction of some kind, braided brake hoses and better pads. Nothing strange there. However, would I be better selling the car (7k miles, 52 reg - £18,500-19,000?) standard and putting £3k ish towards a similar age/miles 135r instead? What Id really like is a 190 with 340r seats, but don't think I could afford one at the moment Any thoughts?

As i understand it, if you have Protected NCD and you have an accident and a claim is made you will not loose your NCD but your premium will go up the next time your up for renewal. BUT what happens to your NCD does it stay at the same level for the next 3 years or do you still build up???

...my Elise is worth on the private market? Black Sport 160S, with all the bits (Janspeed, LSS, Radio kit) plus a De-cat, second airbox removed to get it back to 160 spec. Little bit done like clear side repeaters, S2 wiper and so on too FLSH, MOT'd, taxed etc, brand new Proxies with recent geo, only 15k miles and in bloody good condition. Would 17.5k seem like a reasonable price? Also, how much do you think somewhere like NW would give me for it? Ta

Saw this on southrun lotus web site Things have been fairly quiet on the Lotus scene until recently. There are two big rumours flying around at the moment, the possible use of the BMW M5 engine in the replacement Esprit giving the car plenty of BHP and reliability, and the other not quite so plausible rumour is another buy-out of Lotus or Proton with Lotus attached. This type of rumour does crop up from time to time, but one interesting part is a speculation of Toyota getting involved, the thoughts of Toyota + Lotus F1 team does sound tantalising, but don't get too excited, the rumour doesn't seem to have even made the magazines, yet?

<rant on> Started driving toward Shropshire/Bridgenorth this afternoon to aleviate (sp?) Bank Holiday boredom. Friend told me the roads were quiet, I had a tank full of SUL and no time limit 30 minutes into the drive, I was thoroughly pi$$ed off. Not only were the roads quite busy, but the state of peoples driving .... beggars belief. They don't know where there indicators or mirrors are, have no idea about lane discipline, cant understand speed limits (ie 40 in a 60, then still 40 when they hit 30 - but yet if you overtake them in the 60, you get flashed/fingered/tooted then they tailgate you in the 30 ) Then there is the state of the roads. I think…

Adjusted my tyres pressures today (now on 26/28 - which has got rid of the flex, but is too high) so I though I'd go out for a quick test of them. Roads were quiet, saw no police at all....as soon as the car warmed up I let loose the 160 horses of war. Guess what? Out pops mr Police Volvo T5, just as I was sitting just short of the limiter in 2nd. I crapped myself, thinking I was sure to get pulled. They didn't though - either they couldn't be arsed to turn around, or they just put it down to noise rather than speed (I was going uphill, we both hit the crest at the same time)...either way, I spent the rest of my trip going very slowly. Of all the times to show up …
