Well my Car's been took to Harlequin Motors in Leics now. Apparently It's meant to be quite good and someone had already recomended it to me. Any one know whether they do there own Geo there? Bit worried about it being done properly for obvious reasons! Still nice of the insurance company to tell me - I was dealing with Sinclaires and was hoping to get them to do it!

Does anyone know a "good" (for that I mean familiar with Lotuses) mechanic in or around Nottingham? I've got an '98 Elise that needs an MoT but - wouldn't you know it - the headlamps are both shot and I think I need the front clamshell off to redo the light mountings. If its got to be a main dealer thing - which one is best - Storm or Peter Smith? TIA Rich

Hey Everyone, Ive decided on getting an S1 now, and though it would be wise to learn about the elise before going out hunting for one. Ive been driving FWD cars since 17 im 20 now. I had a Saxo VTR 8v which made PGTi it was a track day car, with 140bhp + 50bhp Nitrous. Naturally aspirated with high lift cam. It was stripped out to bare metal with a 6 point cage, cobra imola fixed seats etc. Now i have a pug 106 GTi 1.6 16v with a Group N exhaust, 4-2-1, Carbon Fibre ram cooler (thats all the power stuff) and it rolling roaded 149bhp @ 6600rpm. I wasnt planning on selling my gti until i was 21 but ive been offered good money for it so im letting it go. …

Hi, Kris H from SELOC suggested i probe you guys as i am based in Northampton! I drive a VX220 and manage to roll it into the back of a golf in traffic at 10mph.... There are a couple of pics >HERE< Anyway, i have 2 options apart from a £3k insurance job... 1/ i get the clam repaired but i reckon it would not be cost effective given the number of cracks and damage to the light brackets(though the lights are fine!) . Can anyone suggest some good fibreglass repairers in Northampton/Midlands/Milton Keynes area?? 2/ I have 2 possibilities wrt a new/2nd hand clam for £500. They can ship it down to a paintshop, but again, i (un)fortunately, I dont have a…

OK all set. Left Loughborough 8.30. Lovely drive towards Nottingham Saw a red S1 coming the other way. Found the Pub.. No problem. 6 Elises in the car park. Yellow appears to be a popular colour this year.( But black is better).. Walked in the pub and could not find anyone. So I had a drink looked around several times then left. So please tell me where you were hiding Was ther anoyther room somewhere I didnt find or did you all go to the Chineese instead? Still saw a nice type 49 elise on the way back Cheers Dave

As I am picking up my Elise tomorrow lunch time, I am sorting the insurance out tonight. Got a few on-line quotes last night. The best ones were from:- MoreThan.co.uk (about £495, but with £600 excess, protected NCB for life) ScreenTrade.co.uk (Lloyds TSB trading name)- Actual policy is with "Fortis": About £580- £250 excess protected NCB Norwich Union: £637, £220 excess, protected NCB Any comments on the above, or other suggestions? Many thanks, Ian

All Golf drivers should be shot! Their brakes are far too good! I now have a bent front end!! Not chuffed, Sent pics to Mike at Horizon for a quote. As you can imagine the golf suffered a scratch were the badge touched the paintwork on the bottom of the bumper.

Had a pretty damned good thanks from Christoper Neil at Northwich!! Got passes for the Lotus stand at show on Sat and have invited Moi to a trackday at Oulton Park on 1st June. They are demoing the new Exige, TVR & Noble. You have to choose which car u want a go in, so I've gone for the Exige (not sure whether it's driving or being a passenger) - either would do!! Anyone else here going on Tuesday morning?
