This is the build thread for my Lister Bell Stratos. It will be a long and arduous thread I'm sure! I want to build something like this: Lister Bell is a small company near Newark that build a Stratos replica kit called the STR. The owner is ex-Ultima and ex Gardner Douglas. http://www.listerbell.com/ Steel spaceframe chassis: GRP body. It's a very comprehensive kit: Aluminium uprights, double wishbone front suspension, custom exhaust with built in cats, replica 'coffin spoke' alloys, air con and lots of other nicely made bits. Although they do a version that will use a Ferrari V8 and a version that takes the Yota V6 (a la Evora / Exige) the most popular ch…

Lotus in the Peak 2022 takes place over the weekend of 8th to 10th July 2022. We are very proud to announce that this year’s event is in aid of Rainbows Hospice for children and young people with life limiting illnesses. Have a look at rainbows.co.uk/about-rainbows to see the incredible work they do. All profits will be passed on to this very deserving charity. The event has a similar format to previous years but with the main event on Sunday 10th returning to Chatsworth House, as one of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire’s chosen supported charities for 2022. The best way to enjoy LitP is to make a long weekend of it and enjoy the Peak District and Derbyshir…

First day of no pubs, no coffee shops, restaurants etc. Spent a fair few hours driving round the empty country roads in the Lotus with no particular place to go. My 6 year old came to, and whizzed around until he was actually sick. Been to Halfords and spent too much money on car care shit. Tomorrows highlight- washing the car 😕 How has everyone else filled their time?

I will be popping over to the Dales and Peaks in the morning, in the Elise, to try out a Chatsworth run route I have in mind. If anyone fancies tagging along they are more than welcome. It will be cold and icy first thing, so I shall be going nice and slow. The countryside will still be stunning though, and we should have the roads to ourselves until breakfast. I will be at Alfreton at about 7.45, Hassop for breakfast at 9 and home in Notts by lunch (12-12.30ish). If it snows I ain't going!

I will be breaking my fast at Hassop this coming Sunday, if anyone is around. I have some brake pads to bed in....... Weather permitting, of course..

OK, the Exige is off the road undergoing a suspension refresh and my fickle mind is already cheating on it. Although I'll never sell it (and I truly mean that), I'm drawn to cars of similar value that offer similar excitement. My current crush is the Lister Bell Lancia Stratos replica. The full kit costs £30k, then you need to find a 3.0 Alfa to donate its engine and identity, then you end up with a 70's wedge with lots of lights and garish colour schemes. And a chance for the back end to overtake the front if you even think of lifting off. As Lister Bell are registered in Farndon, Newark, I wonder if any of you have any experience with the car or company? Cheers…

So i want an Exige, have done for years, finally time to act! Problem is i don't know which one. I've test driven a bunch of Exiges and Elises and come up with two that i really like. This would end up being a bit of a daily car for me, rather than just a weekend thing. One of them's a standard red colour, which i like a lot. The other is a Club Racer, with the powder blue/black stripe thing going on. As a car my preference is with the CR (it's got better stuff, uprated injectors etc...) but i'm just a little worried about the colour scheme, it's quite stand-outish, as a daily driver is it a bit too pretentious? It's fairly loud as well, so i'm trying to imagi…

Well, that hasn’t ended well! Picked up from Gavs, all going so well, then at Newark another driver attempted to change lanes on a roundabout. Gutted isn’t the word. So who are we recommending for body work?!

Got this idea off Simon G last year! Lets have an MLOC Rear of the Year competition! All you have to do is post a pic of your rear ( car that is , unless someone has something really worthy! ) and post it on this thread. Think the composition of the pic should also be took into account! We can then vote for winners in each catagory, say Elise, Exige, Elan, Exel etc, etc, then we can have a overall winner. I might even organise a some kind of prize? Perhaps a poster of the winners rear? Perhaps someone/somewhere could even sponser it! So bring it on! PS, might even let Tivvers enter to keep everyone happy
