  1. I wasn’t questioning the quality of the car, I’m sure it’s a belter, I was just pointing you towards the Cup FB group as they have more model specific knowledge when it comes to Cup cars, they are a pretty rare beast and most are known to the group. The tyres issue is up to you, if it was me I’d be asking why such a fastidious owner has such old tyres on the car despite the spare set of wheels, I’d offer to go half’s with the seller on a new set.
  2. Might be worth asking on the Elise Cup Facebook group, someone will know the car, it’s the only reason I have a FB account😂. To be fair it’s at the low end price wise if your after a Cup so I guess it’s not going to be perfect. They’re a fantastic car, I’m sure you’ll be very happy with it if you do buy it. For the record my Cup was fitted with AO52’s from the factory, I got just over 2.5k out of the rears with no track days🙄😃 Elise can go places those big old Exiges can’t get 😉
  3. I have Barclays travel pack(not breakdown cover) linked to my current account, it combines world travel and European breakdown insurance for £14.50p per month. Last time I checked which was 4 years ago, when my then Elise was 17 years old there was no vehicle age restriction. I’m sure lots of other banks do similar schemes. Obviously worth checking but I just took another quick look at the T&C’s and couldn’t see anything relating to vehicle age?. I also think that the owners of older vehicles being taken on overseas trips will be more fastidious about maintaining their car? The travel pack appears to cover everything other stand alone breakdown insurance covers but again probably worth checking it meets your needs.
  4. I had an indicator take flight on an 03 111s when it was a month old, the car had various other issues and went back to Lotus to have them all fixed. 10 miles after collecting it the “fixed” unit made another bid for freedom. Lotus fixed the problem by shortening the loom to the indicator😂, which to be fair did solve the problem of it flailing all over the paintwork. The front clips are a real weak point and combined with poor tolerances around the indicator recess they do tend to break at an alarming rate. New units are not cheap(as you now know) there are several fixes out there but the best I’ve found is this one:https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2837864, if you get them made in abs they will solve the flying indicator problem. I got some printed by Shapeways https://www.shapeways.com/marketplace/other?q=uk but that was quite some time ago so there may be cheaper options out there.
  5. Picture of mine(6.2), I fitted it last year. The first unit I had failed after a couple of weeks but Joying replaced it without issue. I’m very happy with it.
  6. Sadly it’s one of the drawbacks of our plastic cars and not easy to get rid of. Most body shops will be able to get rid of them but very few know how to solve the problem long term, as has already been suggested use a reputable place that understands Lotus, Option 1 have been a go to on here for many years, Specialised Paintwork in Reading are another that know their stuff when it comes to blisters. The last time I saw any as bad as that were on a S2111s I owned, it was brand new from the factory in 2003 and the paint started falling off it in chunks after 3 months, turned out to be poorly handled in the paint shop at Hethel. Never seen them that bad on an Evora though.
  7. Crit Air is straightforward just apply online and they send the sticker through. We used Bip & Go last year for our Euro trip tolls, https://www.bipandgo.com/en/individual-subscription-toll-payment/pay-as-you-go/ it also does most of the clean air zones if you go through them and bills you at the end of the month, saves a whole load of trouble in regards to tolls, especially in a low Lotus. Some towns in France don’t exactly advertise the fact they have clean air tolls, for example two days in Pau cost €6 🙄. Pyrenees are a revelation in a Lotus and make our roads feel like they’re from the dark ages. Have fun👍
  8. Mine arrived this morning, many thanks to all involved in its production 🙏. Goes without saying that July is my personal favourite but have to say that all the pics are superb!
  9. Have a chat with Jamie at B&C, I’m not saying he will give you a better price but if you’re looking to part ex he will at least give you an honest price. Just for the record I agree with Eric^^^^ re an Elise.
