Good'ay peeps,
I've literally just returned to good ole Blighty after a couple of months away (it was supposed to be 3 months).
I surrendered the tax on all 3 vehicles before I left hoping to save a few pennies and my wife waited for the cheques to roll in. They didn't and it appears they got lost in the post (despite being sent recorded)....harrumph!
As the weather is fab I want to take the Exige out, but have just filled out the V33 (claiming road tax back with no tax disc) in order to get the money back. I want to retax the cars from 01 May anyway, so how do I legally get back on the road AND claim the tax for 2 months I've been away?
It's good to be home, I miss the UK. Any help will be hugely appreciated.
Cheers,
Kurt

Midlands Drive Out This Weekend.
21 February 2013 - 10:14 PM
As a couple of guys have been caught by the fuzz over the last weekend, I wonder if we should advertise runs out on this forum. Is that the correct thing to do?
Is anyone up for a drive out on Sunday? Can anyone suggest a route or better still, be a guide? Maybe meet at the usual place at the usual time and go from there. If no ones up for it, no dramas, but its my last shebang before I go out of the country for 3 months. Any takers...

Exige Painting

My friend painted this for me. It's of our Exige as we thrashed around Blyton in 2011. It was Helen's first and only track day as a passenger. We think its fantastic but are naturally biased as its our car. What do you think of it? Feel free to be critical...
Wheel Repairs...recommendations Please!
26 September 2012 - 04:20 PM
Hi Folks,
Like a complete throbber I removed a rear wheel from the Exige and managed to leave it upright before it fell over on our gravel driveway! Doh! As a result it now has pock marks in the paintwork around the rim. To say I'm a bit cross about it is a vast understatement!
I removed it to get the tyres replaced and this has now been done. For that reason, I'd like to have a smart repair done on the wheel. I hope to be able to get an exact match for the rest of the rim (which is kind of an eggshell sheen, black in colour). Have any of you some recommendations for me please? How much do they charge to sort one alloy wheel?
Many thanks,
Kurt

Gents,
After our Derbyshire run earlier this year, I decided that enough was enough with the high idle my Exige and I'd get the troublesome induction sorted out. After two incidents of jammed wide open throttle on track days and the 1900rpm idle (I suspected the IACV), I've replaced the Token (sorry, Titan) throttle bodies with Jenvey T/Bs and a Autotechnix airbox, and 90mm inlet trumpets.
After lots of porting and fiddling around with various parts, today was the day I attempted a start. Almost 2 months of sitting idle, the key was turned and I was treated (after a bit of tweaking) to a 1000rpm smooth and steady idle!!
Words cannot describe the elation and despite having a few more bits to finish off (exhaust tail pipe, air filter bracket, rolling road session) I am pretty much on track for my target of getting to Chatsworth on July 8th.
I just needed to share how pleased I am. A full fitting guide will follow in the near future for other S1 Exige owners thinking of making a similar modification.
Cheers,
Kurt
