I only ever achieve around 3K a year in the Exige and since it tends to break at track days and allied to the fact I've had it mapped for road driving (no lairy power delivery, lumpy idle or peaky power), I'm happy to stay away from tracks this year.
I hit 40 in July but as some have said the insurance companies have us by the nads. I just don't get how I can be a safe driver with 15 years NCD (across 3 vehicles 10 years Exige, 4 years Panda, 1 year Bike,) but I have to have seperate NCD for each vehicle. How does THAT work??? But if I have a bump (say in the Panda) then I have to declare that when I come to renew the Exige? It makes no sense and it pisses me right off.
I think I ought to start my own insurance company, covering 3rd party only, and liquidate it if I need to claim. That way we're all legal and I'll charge a nominal £10 on each vehicle. Sorted...

If you lock a cat in the garage, ensure your car doesn't have a cover on it. Cats tend to try to ruck the cover, causing nasty scratches and then demand shooting until they are dead.

Elaine, sorry I went into autopilot. Cheese is crap for mousetraps, peanut butter is superb and is what I've used with success. As for the naysayers  who say you shouldn't kill anything, I assume they're vegans who live in wooden shacks and deplore our capitalist society? Or are they like a lot of other do gooding nimby middle class hippy cretins????? Shoot them too. Rant ends...

An effective solution to rid your garage of mice is an ultrasonic repellent. About £15 from amazon and use a 9v battery. Your car/dog might not like it either though.
Make sure you bait any mouse traps with cheese and position them close to walls. Mice seldom cross open spaces.
I had this happen (I live in the sticks) but haven't had an issue for a while now. Good luck...
