  1. Nice one! I'll see you there. It's a great fun day.
  2. Welcome to MLOC! Are you bringing it to Lotus in the Peak?
  3. Hey! Welcome back! Looking forward to this thread. Bon chance and all that.
  4. I like that
  5. I really like this car Dave. If it were for sale a year from now I might buy it.
  6. Welcome to MLOC Marco. Maybe you can post up some footage recorded by the camera when you have some. It looks neat. Are you coming to Lotus in the Peak in June by the way?
  7. Btw Elise Spares are cheaper than EliseParts for clutches. You don't need an uprated one on a 160 bhp engine.
  8. I'm pretty sure a baffled sump isn't necessary on a K series car. I don't have one and have tracked mine a bit. I'd ask Lithopsian though! If it helps, when I put a replacement second hand engine in my car I had Gav put a new mls head gasket on - no head skim and no new type oil rail. 20k miles later it's absolutely fine. He also put a new water pump, cam belt and tensioner and head bolts on. Plus oil, filter and plugs of course. Oh, and a new clutch. They aren't that dear so seemed daft not to. I kinda wished I'd put a lightened flywheel on too for quicker blips when heeling and toeing but they are expensive... I left the 'new' alternator on the engine and kept my old one as a spare which I haven't needed yet. I wonder about your old gearbox. They are very robust so I'd be surprised if it's knackered. I have Redline MT70 oil in.mine and the change is good. Could it be linkages and cables that are knackered/needed adjusting? I would keep the ratios from the box that came standard in your 120 bhp car as the ratios are nice and close. It does about 20 mph per 1000 revs in top so it's quite busy but if you're not doing much touring it's fine. It's what I have.
  9. I should add if the seller doesn't know why it has that plenum I would be digging around in the service history.
  10. Lotus fitted that ally plenum to S2 135 Sport and 135 R cars - the rest of the 135 upgrade consisted of a ported head and different map. I have this engine in my s2, albeit with some hotter cams too. People on SELOC have been saying for years the ally plenum offers very little improvement in bhp and actually reduces low-end torque. I don't know how true that is. I wonder if the ally plenum on 'your' car is indicative of it having had some more engine mods. I'm sure you know that all VVC cars have the ally plenum.
  11. See you there Tom! Fabulous.
  12. See you there Guy! Mrs B and I are at Oakhill all weekend 👍
  13. I just looked on Komotec's website and the weight saving is 43 kilos! Have you got a lightweight battery fitred Wain? They are a relatively cheap mod and can save another 10 kilos. That adds up to over 8 stones!
  14. Tillett seats are lovely. I think Komotec put them in Emiras. Big weight saving too.
