  1. V105s are a nice tyre for year round use. A lot less grip in the warm weather but better in the cold and very wet. Also, the sidewalls are a lot softer than 888s so they don't tramline as bad. If you use your car in the winter they would be my choice. But all four, not just rears! If you have been happy with the 888s and only use the car in warmer weather I would just stick some 888Rs on the rear. They work perfectly fine with 888s on the front - I know because I did exactly that. Bilstein refurb is the way to go - if you like the way the car handled before don't fix something that ain't broke!
  2. These guys did all the bodywork on the Esprit s1 that was restored on that TV show Salvage Hunters Classic Cars. They are proper. Miles away from anywhere though in Spalding.
  3. Why not ring Gav at Unit 4 and ask him? Or if Mohammed won't come to the mountain then trailer the mountain to Mohammed? Gav has fitted two head gaskets for me on two different engines and both have been trouble free. He's changed hundreds. You can ask him for advice on other stuff while you're at it. 20 years of working on Elises means he knows a great deal more than most folk that post about technical stuff on forums.
  4. I don't know but if you ring Gav at Unit 4 Vehicle Services in Burton he will tell you. He's very reasonable and an excellent mechanic - he has looked after my car for 11 years now.

Welcome to MLOC Jack. If you are looking to buy an Elise don't rule out the Kseries cars - I have one and they have a lot of advantages. Come to a meet and ask some questions - if you can get yourself to Hassop Station Cafe for 9.30am on Sunday 3rd March I might even take you for a quick spin in mine - see events section 👍👍👍
  6. Looks nice. I have one of those but mine has no edging on it.
  7. Looks good mate. A lot better than I could do.
  8. I have called Nitron direct in the past and they were very helpful. If I were you I would give them a call and ask them about valving on the NTR shocks if you were to fit much softer springs. I dunno if they would recommend different valving. PJS will be able to advise you what will fit and they also have all the kit and expertise to do your geo and corner weights. You are welcome to have a go in mine to try my Nitrons - I live mid Notts. Send me a pm on here.
  9. I dunno about the Billies but I have Nitron NTRs and can offer my opinion - they are a great bit of kit, well made and provide better body control than standard Billies. I really like them but - and it's quite a big but - the spring rates are much higher than anything Lotus has ever fitted and so the car is very stiff - great on track but not so good on bumpy and uneven B roads. As I rarely do trackdays now I am thinking of buying some softer springs so the ride is more compliant.
  10. I made the same swap. It transformed my car - cured the horrible tramlining I had with the stiff sidewalled 888s.
  11. I don't know of any cars but good luck with your search. I look forward to seeing your updates. Dean
  12. I think Lotus were a little too conservative in speccing 175s on the s2. They specced 195s on the later s3s which could be read as an admission of error.
  13. If money were no object then yes! I have V105s all round. Good in the wet and cold and good enough in the dry and hot. I'm happy with them.
  14. New V105s on the front will be better than what you have iverall even if you don't swap your rears. If it were me I would fit new fronts now and wait until your current rears wear out before replacing.
  15. Good stuff guys 😊 Where is the venue this year?
