  1. Great write up Pete like you say as an everyday car the BM wins no problem. BUT as a car that is interesting to own, the sound and sensation you get when driving the Exige gets my vote.
  2. I will try removing the surplus part next time I change the cam belt maybe buy another pulley I have a lathe so easy to remove it myself.
  3. https://www.midlandslotus.co.uk/forum/topic/65062-k-series-lightweight-crank-pulleys/ If you go on SELOC do a search there are quite a few threads, from what I can see it looks like removing the extra pulley is OK but replacing the whole pulley not.
  4. I do remember a thread on SELOC about the lightened crank pulleys causing crank failures I will have a look and see if I can find it. I think the problem is increased vibration as the standard one has a bonded rubber insert.
  5. Just soak it in water, you can get it from Demon tweaks Merlin motorsport e bay lots of places. There are also different types, some that need a coat of HT paint others you can leave. I also use metal tie wraps to hold it on. You can get a tool that tightens the metal tie wraps as well.
  6. I soak the wrap first seems to keep the material together and helps get a tighter fit around the exhaust.
  7. The oil filter looks to be in the same position as the one I have with an oil cooler. Exhaust wrap will help the alt last longer and keep the temps down in the engine compartment. I also continue the heat wrap down to the flexi to protect the drive shaft boot actually made a shield from nimbus to go over the exhaust at this point as a boot split on the way to Le Mans and caught fire.
  8. I just print out relevant info and keep it in files in the garage. I find it easier than looking through PDFs all the time. I have a large white board as well which is helpful when you need to remember which way shims etc need to be replaced.
  9. My NRV was fitted straight off the pump Most likely to be blocked at the nozzles if there has been rubbish in the tank, try and poke them with a needle or blow air down the opposite way.
  10. It is easier with the engine out on a stand if you can get one. You can get at the cam belt etc a lot easier I would check that is OK before starting especially if the car has been sat for a bit.
  11. New clutch master cylinder and pipe fitted, Exhaust manifold removed and cracks repaired new flexi fitted, vacuum pipes replaced on intake manifold. Made a new support for manifold to block. Booked in for a MOT friendly map and new sports cat next week.
  12. Merry Christmas I hope you all have a nice day.
  13. I agree great race he did exactly what he needed to. 👍
  14. I have been using Odyssey batteries for years they last ages if looked after and are also smaller and a bit lighter.
