  1. I'm looking for breakdown cover for a European road trip later this year (France & Spain) but online comparison sites seem to balk at the age of my Elise. It's been one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned, but still......I'd like cover just in case! Any recommendations, or experience of same? TIA Adam
  2. Thanks - the online application was simple, sticker came through post a week or so later (Lotus S1 is a 3) Thanks for the bipandgo info, looks to be very handy. Adam
  3. Happy New Year all, and apologies for depressing title but..... I am planning a Euro trip in my S1 Elise in May, it needs a 'Crit air' for France (looks like the S1 is a Grey/Cat5) and Spain looks to have implemented something similar (DTG). Can anyone here share their experiences? How do you navigate/avoid zones (does Google maps support this ,etc). My route is likely to be Calais, through France over Pyrenees, to an area just west of Barcelona returning up the west side of France. It would be too easy to say F I and just take the normal car, but I have a feeling that we should be taking these older cars on trips before they are effectively banned entirely by ever-expanding zones. TIA, Adam
  4. FYI - I sorted this with help from Tim (Lakeside Engineering) - seriously Elise knowledgeable & helpful indeed!
  5. Coin trays? I thought they were soap dishes for when it rains?
  6. You seem to like the actual buying of cars a lot! Something I hate doing myself. I bought my S1 Elise in 1997, still got it. Pretty dull story compared to yours, but it shows that the Lotus bug can bite you I won't put a close-up picture here, my other pet hate is cleaning cars and I'm embarrassed to say I've only cleaned the car a dozen times since buying it......
  7. I have an early (1997) S1 Elise and somewhere along the years I've misplaced the original spark plug cover. It never really bothered me because it's lived in a garage (mostly) or at least under cover most of the time. I've read on here that the S2 cover fits (and does a better job of keeping rain out) - can anybody confirm this? Does it use longer bolts to fix? The S2 part number seems to be LDR000400 Apologies if there's a thread on this already, I did a search and found a mention of the S2 cover fitting but no details. TIA, Adam
  8. Thanks for posting this - mine is in need and I wanted to know how much work was involved before trying it myself.
