Since my brother decided he wouldn't avoid hitting something on the motorway in my car, and that it punched through the front face of the grp side sill panel, is there any chance that if I remove the plastic grille that covers the air in-take behind the door (also blocked by the hurricane pipe) that I can reach in and get out what ever is sliding around inside there? Is this panel strengthened on the inside to prevent me front accessing the front of it?

The hole is at the front inside the wheel arch, and slides side to side around corners. I'm just wondering if there is any hope that it can be reached from the back, as the hole it has made sure isn't big enough to get my arm in! Are there any other access holes in this panel that doesn't involve its removal?

I noticed at the weekend that there was a squeak coming from the front of the car - it seemed to be related to the steering and when I had the car stationary and turn the wheel lock to lock it sounded horrendous, like something suddenly needed lubricating.

I first thought it was the steering column as it passes through the bulkhead which is a problem I've had before, but after diving head first into the foot well the squeak was further fwd. Turns out it is coming from the antiroll bar drop link. Is this a problem for it to suddenly start squeaking? I lubricated it and that helped a bit, but I possibly need to get it up on the ramps and have a good look at it.

Is the drop link like the rear ball joint in that, once it starts squeaking it needs replacing or do I just need to lubricate it some more?

I thought I'd just post up some photos of my new 2bular exhaust I've had made.

After reading some excellent feedback on Jim's systems I thought I'd give it a try. I wanted something that wasn't too loud but still gave a nice note when nice and hot without setting off noise monitors at circuits around the country.

Here are the results:

A 7x24 single tip with a false tip fitted to the nearside. I wanted to keep the symmetry and didn't want the hassle of removing the rear grilles and number plate panel.

I think this was one of the first systems he has done for a car of this setup (diffuser & grille type) so I gave him a few measurements of my old system for him to make his pattern up. The results speak for themselves. Pretty much spot on within the grille apertures and fitted perfectly where the old one had without any issues.

The noise has changed considerably, and now has great burble when idle and warm and then when it is in high revs it is much deeper and more racier without it being 'boomy'. Travelling long distances is not a problem either, it is louder than the Std exhaust but not too much at speeds of motorway commuting.

I have to add, driving through tunnels is even more of an absolute blast now! The sound is phenomenal!

Without being too biased, this has been a great experience so far, and I was very wary of the switch to a performance exhaust but this has gone very well.

I'm trying to get some more car decals cut, one of Castle Combe, and another of a particular route.

I've contacted both Steve Pugsley and Paul Massey and both said they can do them, but not heard back from either

Am looking for someone who can cut these decals to go on the outside of my rear window in silver. If you know of anyone who can help, I'd appreciate sending them my way.

I might have missed this somewhere else here, but has anyone else found that CCI are now unable to unsure them because Aviva have decided you need to be over 40 to be classed as responsible enough to drive an Elise????

I now have 2 weeks to my renewal date to sort something else out, with track cover and that is leaneant towards modifications.
