I was a little worried about what my Exige Cup with the Bemani S/C would be like as so many had said A/C was a must have.
I think it depends what you use the car for. For a general purpose car (commuting and holidays), I think it would be good. However, despite the extra thermal loading from the S/C, mine is perfectly alright without A/C.
I used to drive my Speedster (VX220) to Hockenheim with the hardtop on, so the Exige is not that different – actually it is better! When it starts to get a little warm, I just wind down the window – it is very effective and surprisingly draught-free (there was certainly more turbulence in the Speedster). Always have a bottle of mineral water with me in case I get stuck in traffic where it could get hot and dry.
I had agreed with my dealer that I would try it without aircon and he could easily fit it for me if I decided I wanted it. I will not be taking up his offer – it really isn't necessary – for the uses I make of the car.
Essence:
If it's your only car: A/C
If it's mainly a track tool: no.

last summer was no problems in the exige for me
Im sure aircon works great, but id still say its a luxury rather than a necessity.
its certainly not worth 1200 quid though
isnt that what windows are for anyway

Air Con is essential in a tin top imho. especially a car like the exige when you can feel the engine heat.
It actually spoiled my enjoyment of the car last summer when i was getting out with a wet back in my work shirt and tie.

There's no such thing as impossible. Its just an increased level of difficulty

I have a 111R with air con. It would be inconceivable for me to consider another Elise/Exige without the a/c.
I had an S1 Exige with a/c that was pretty ineffective. The 111R/S2 Exige are a totally different story. 15kg weight & no loss of power at full throttle (it shuts down). It works brilliantly, & mine has been totally reliable in 2years use.
Although you'll 'factor in' re-sale, the diffficulty will be actually finding buyers of Exiges without it fitted.
Tim.

Well there you go Zebedee John, you've heard some of us saying that AC is not needed, and then others that couldn't live without it........
You'll just have to borrow one of each from the dealer, and see if you get a B.O problem, or not!
