Dr H
www.telegraph.co.uk .. -never-knew-he-was-beaten.htmlAnother example of what these amazing people did.I appreciate it's a lot of cash but not sure I could sell them if they were my dad's...... If they really have to be sold then they need to go to a public collection such as IWM. The story needs to be told and not lost!
The Cakes
Don't know many 22 year olds who can look after themselves never mind do that. They gave us the opportunity to be the people we are today and a lot are a bloody disappointment!
Dr H
I like the cut of his jib! Pretend to get get out of your damaged plane, enemy flies past, get back in and shoot the bastard down As you say it amazing what these guys did at such a young age and they are an inspiration. But I guess we need to be thankful that we aren't in a situation where we need our younger generation to do the same.
MattyB
On a similar topic, and I know it's old, but this has always been one of my favourites: No idea why the BBC have never repeated it.
Daveb99
Great story, another legend. Serious bravery. I like the mention of the 3 clubs, can't imagine they needed the incentive of being a club member when debating whether to parachute out of a burning plane though!
