Brian Robinson
Hi All, I though I would take my S2 Elise 2001 out for a run today but both key fob's failed to turn the immobiliser and alarm off. My question is this, if both key batteries are flat can I just replace them or do the keys need to be set up again after or could there be an issue with the car. Thanks in anticipation. @ndy
Although the procedure below is described for and S1 Elise it has been known to work with an S2's depending on age of car and type of alarm, Your symptoms sound similar to whats happened to me and my S1 - 1) Remove battery & wait 10 seconds before re-installing (re-sync can fail if this step is missed) 2) Hold down both buttons (remote fob LED will light), holding down for approx.10 seconds until LED turns off. 3) Release both buttons. 4) Press large button for one second, LED will flash…re-sync complete More info here
Jonathan E
If your batteries are fubarred you should just be able to replace and they will pick up where they left off. I'm assuming you have the round key fob with two grey buttons, says cobra 7777 on the back? If @ndy above solution doesn't work then drop me a pm as I have a procedure from cobra to resync fobs as new but I'm somewhat reluctant to put that info on a public forum.......
