It's A Bit Quiet! I Have A Question, What Would You Restore...

Or build for that matter? With Leigh and I plugging away I wondering what others would like to do project-wise....

I'm really enjoying the S1, it hasn't been as big a distraction as I thought it might have been, negatively speaking anyway. Positively speaking it's been quite uplifting as far as my thought process is concerned watching it all slowly come together. And TBH once I'm done I reckon I'll do something else.

So what would you like to do and why... Pictures and links welcome.

Jonny

My parents got married in a 1957 Alfa Romeo Guilietta Sprint Veloce (lightweight) it's still in their garage but is in a sorry state as they didn't have a garage when they first had the car! Our climate and Italian cars do not mix!! I'd love to do it but I have zero time/talent! They are beautiful cars and by the looks now, very rare. God knows how much it would cost to sort it though?

I am currently rebuilding a C90 race bike and a 1988 NSR250. I have another two NSR's, a C90 and my Bantam to rebuild as well as rebuilding my Audi turbo Scamp......... I really don't have time to go to work!

Bloody hell, is MLOC dying. 240 views, about 20 posts all week across the website. Come on I need some Google wine time ;-)

Everyone has a favourite, even if it's not affordable...

I'd go for the tattiest 340R I could find and give it a properly decent rebuild, including a supercharged Honda transplant.  There was one just like this for sale at B & C a couple of years ago (number plate was RED 340R) and it was perfection on wheels (and yes, it was repainted Ardent RED). drool.gif

Really a Scimitar, how come Leigh?

My uncle had a couple when I was younger. He lived in London but used to come up the the North West were we lived and take us up to the Lakes. Great memories of the sound of a V6 Essex, the smell of leather and that 'old' car oil/petrol mix and the stunning scenery.

They are a good looking motor. His were both white with wheels like this. One with tan leather and then another with black.

That car belonged to a bloke who unfortunately lost the battle with cancer. I think his wife used it occasionally for a while, taking it to Goodwood meets etc but she sold it a few years ago. I think the new owner then took it back to Maidstone (they did the original conversion) and had it modified further.

Oooh dear, really sorry to hear that.  I was almost tempted to go down and have closer look but my gorgeous Exige S 240PP (at the time) got very upset at the prospect of being usurped by young skeletal super-model!!  The 40 grand price tag was also a bit of a downer sad.png.

Leigh I totally get the Scimitar thing. They are a great looking car and were a great concept - good packaging, big powerful (for the day) engine, rear wheel drive and plenty of luggage space.

I would, will, give my S1 Exige a make over. Not a Jonny Fox OCD rebuild. Just a careful strip and reassemble tidy up of any corroded or scruffy looking parts. I might go so far as a respray of the front splitter. To me, it needs to be original but gently lived in.
